Viper Biothane Working Tracking Lead Leash Long Line for Dogs, Black 1/2" x 15ft

I have the 20' 1/2" lead in black. It is comfortable and I really like the grip provided by the biothane material. I was concerned that the 1/2" would be too narrow but it is fine. The 1/2" is just a bit heavier than a lead made of cotton/fiber but easy to adapt to. I find that the biothane material does not chafe my hands as much as the cotton/fiber leads do. It also does not pick up water. I do not let my dog chew on the lead since nearly any dog could easily destroy it. With responsible usage it should last a while. It is a least as durable as the cotton/fiber versions in this regard. The hardware clasp (to collar) seems sufficiently sturdy. Not expensive for what it is. I like it because allows me to give my Irish Wolfhound additional range (when appropriate) while walking. She is a sight hound and like to check things out this lets me give her slack safely. It does require a bit more skill than a shorter lead. I hold the lead loop on my left hand and then play-out/retract lead with my right hand while holding loops in left. It's not hard though it does require some attention. But the reason I walk my dog (aside from exercise) is to give the dog attention and quality time together where the point is for the dog and I to interact. It has made a tremendous difference in the dogs behavior since she knows that short excursions are allowed. She now looks/signals me to ask "a little more lead dad" instead of just pulling. So now when we are walking we are both engaged with each other and the surroundings no longer her pulling for a little more freedom nor me dealing with incessant tugging. She literally dances to go out to walk now.

After owning this leash for 6 months, I am very happy with this purchase! I used to train dogs professionally and have used all kinds of dog leashes including nylon, leather, rope, and even chain. I had never tried a biothane leash until this one, and it out performs even expensive leather leashes. It's sturdy and feels good in your hand without feeling too stiff. It hasn't shown any signs of cracking or wear, and the metal attachments feel high quality and have handled pulling from strong dogs without failure (which was an issue in many reviews of other biothane brands). Best of all, unlike leather, it doesn't stink when it's wet or muddy, and is incredibly easy to clean with a cloth and mild soap and water. I would not recommend letting your dog bite or chew on any leash, but this can handle a bit more teeth than say a nylon or rope leash before it needs to be replaced. For $20, this is a great, reliable leash for both experienced and new dog owners!

This is the 2nd leash I bought. The last one held up to 6 years of daily use with a strong (110+ lb) dog who is not shy about pulling and biting at the leash when he's playing. Durable, lightweight, strong, and easy to wipe down / clean. The current leash I received, is just as well made as the one I bought 6 years ago. I probably could have gotten another few months out of the last one, but it was getting a little worn in some areas.

this leash is amazing!! the material on it is like non slip so u want loose grip of ur dog. also very easy to clean if u get it dirty, metal parts don't rust. overall its an amazing leash.

I love these leashes. I have a 20' long line, a green 4', a blue 2' and a yellow 6' I have always used leather leashes for my dogs, i bought the 20' long line first. I later replaced my 6' leather leash with the 6' yellow leash. It is now my go to training leash. They are well made and if they get soiled and dirty i simply rinse them and use a clorox wipe on it and i feel good about it being clean. They are sturdy, well made and have brass hardware. They are very strong (my dog is 150 lbs) they are not chew proof as noted in the description but he doesnt chew the leash. Also the variety of colors are great, I chose the safety yellow as my main training leash as anyone can clearly see us coming and see my dog is on leash.

Excellent leash. Very good traction, comfortable to hold, and stands up to my mixed GSD puppy's brand new teeth. My clip inexplicably broke one day when she was tugging, a short few months after purchasing, and the company 100% stood by the product and shipped me a new one. I'm really not sure what happened, but it makes me slightly nervous that she could have broken free in a bad moment - the only reason I'm putting my rating at 4/5.

Great leash. Good for swimming and waterplay. Doesn’t smell. Washes off quickly.

Excellent Quality Leash for all kinds of weather. We leave it outside in our fenced-in area in case the neighbors dog is out and barking at him by our chain fence. Easy to grab leash and beats yelling at our rescue who will not ever bother to look up or stop barking. Just grab this leash, great fitting handle & he goes back into the house. It stood up to our cold Winter and Spring rain as it's left outside. Great value for the money. Really is waterproof and we don't have to carry a leash every time we walk outside, it's already there!

Where is the O ring pictured? All the Viper leads seem to have one, but both my leads come without.

Using as long lead for puppy. Intact after a few months use. Waterproof, easy to clean. The colour stands out very well from far and in the grass. Very good quality and great value for money. Comfortable to hold on your hand. Would highly recommend.
