Excellent dress form
Attractive and solid dress form. My creations fit on this very snugly and it displays them well. I will be purchasing more for my craft booth. UPDATE: I have since purchased 5 more for my booth. They look great. Here is a hint for anyone doing outdoor craft shows: purchase some marble coasters (usually available at TJ Max or Marshalls) and hot-glue them to the base. Helps on a windy day! Love them.

Well made, but a snug fit for Madame Alexander doll.
This dress form arrived well packed and in perfect condition. Since I sew for my granddaughter's doll, I only had two outfits here to try on my fitting doll. The original dress (Madame Alexander) was a snug fit on the doll form. I had to really squeeze the form at first, to close the velcro back. It got easier and easier the next few times I tried the dress on, so perhaps compressing the form more will help make it smaller.A loose fitting knit top with back snaps, which I made, was very easy to slip onto the dress form. The Madame Alexander doll has a vinyl upper body (nice for necklines and sundresses), unlike the American Girl's soft upper body. The dress form tapers from the shoulder width to the waist, while the Madame Alexander doll has straight sides, so the dress form is a bit bulkier just below the arms.I would still use the doll for elastic measurements and the final fit. But the form will be a big help during the designing, sewing, and accessorizing process. The form is well made, and it's so much easier to slip a garment onto it than a large doll.Update: I would like to upgrade this form to 5 stars! I just finished sewing a Hermione Granger (Harry Potter) robe for my granddaughter's doll, and the doll stand was extremely helpful. Trying on a hooded robe for fittings was simpler than on an 18-inch doll. The whole sewing process with lining, wand pocket, and closures was easier with the form. And I enjoyed seeing my project, in progress, on display.

Better to use the actual doll for fitting
I have found it better to use the actual doll than this doll dress form, especially if I want a fairly form-fitting dress. This form doesn't fit my Madame Alexander dolls and isn't much more helpful when making American Girl dolls clothes either. I tried one user's suggestion and purchased an American Girl doll body (no head, arms, legs) but didn't find that much better. Both are good to display dresses once they are completed though. Just not real helpful to me.

Great alternative for American Girl Dolls
I absolutely love this dress form!!! I will be ordering more for my Pleasant Company/American Girl Dolls. This dress form works with older Pleasant Company 18 inch doll outfits which has chubbier torsos. Great for display and looks wonderful in photos.

bite marks??
arrived today just as promised by Amazon...it is perfect for what I want it for...the only problem I have with it is that it almost looks like someone was hungry or really mad and tried to bite into the wood stand! the markings on the bottom look just like teeth marks and the ones on the top are right next to the hole and must have been a miss with the drill or whatever was used to Doll Dress Form of Foam & Muslin for Display or Sewing with a Perfect Fit, Sized for 18 inch American Girl Doll Clothes, Doll Accessories cut the holes...not gonna send it back just for that because it will be right here in my craft room and not at a craft show...
