The Burning Man: A Novel

Totally engrossing
Once I started it I could not put this book down. Phillip Margolin wove a taut and exciting legal drama, full of very interesting and believable characters. He had false leads and kept you in doubt until the very unexpected end.

Ok read
You will want to know how it ends! The intertwining stories are good. But, this is the kind of book you can put down and come back to later.

Good mystery book that keeps you reading.
The book required reading a few chapters before it got interesting - I enjoyed how the son had accepted the punishment from his father in a big law firm that his father ran and in the end when he needed advice and help he found that his father would be there for him - the son had learned a valuable lesson in humility. In writing this I am having to remember just how it all happened as it has been a few months since I read the book. It was a good book and I think anyone would enjoy it.

Excellent and Intriguing!
As usual Margolin’s books hold you to the end with all the twists, turns, and plots. Burning Man is a great book and hard tin. Put down.

Mr. Margolin's by far the best and so is The Burning Man.
I love courtroom suspense. And when it comes to courtroom suspense, Mr. Margolin is by far the best. The main character is Peter Hale, a young attorney working at his father’s multimillion-dollar corporate law firm. Within minutes into the story, the novice attorney Peter, against the warning of his father, decides to handle a case on his own and ends up ruining his client’s chance of ever receiving any real money. The case was ruined. Now without the largess of his father’s wealth, power, and influence, Peter is forced to live a life of penury (well, maybe not penury), and work as a public defender in a very small town of Oregon. It is here in this small town that Peter is asked to defend a close friends brother-in-law in a murder trial. The once spoiled Peter is once again in the spot light but this time he has no choice but to improve himself for the better as a person and as an attorney if he wants to successfully defend his new client. The plot is solid, the excitement is there, and the usual courtroom battle can be seen everywhere. This may just be Margolin’s best novel yet.
