It looks big
But it works great and fits perfectly. Had to replace the knob that broke (the smaller in on left has a chip in the glass..I accidentally broke it). I ordered this one as a replacement and when it arrived it looked big but it fits the opening and actually is better then the original lid the 8 cup Hamilton beach perculator it came with.

I have a very old percolator and this fit.

and it worked perfectly like a hot knife through butter
I just received it today, tried to put it together but it did not fit, so I decided to try heating it first for a little with hot water so the plastic will expand, and it worked perfectly like a hot knife through butter.

Going nutty with trying to put these pieces together.
Black nut will not go onto the glass bulb. I need to return this.
