Great lens for the money.

Excellent lens, good for medium to long range photos and video (used with Sony ZVE10).

My main camera is a canon, I use my Sony A6000 for casual snapshot, this zoom give me a low budget choice for a long zoom. It works. Wish the focus could be a bit faster.

Fantastic lens for the price. I nearly didn’t purchase due to YouTube reviews and had the much more expensive G Series 70-350 in my basket. Then I remembered these guys are professional photographers and I am not. I’m not going to be punching into photographs to assess corner sharpness and I’d wager neither are you. If you want a pleasing photograph to show friends and family, save yourself half a grand and get this. I’ve spent the morning bribing wildlife with nuts to pose for me and I’ve been very impressed with the results. The examples I’ve posted have been cropped and exposure adjusted. The pictures came out sharp and the autofocus was quick enough to capture those spontaneous animal behaviours. The lens is small and light for a telephoto, but feels durable enough to sling in a bag and be ready for an impromptu photoshoot without the need to baby it. Cheaper glass has its benefits in that respect. As I learn and grow as a photographer, I may upgrade - but as someone starting out this is a brilliant bit of kit and I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to try a telephoto lens.

This 55-210mm is a must-have if you need a budget-friendly telephoto lens for your Sony APS-C camera! I use it on my a6700, and it delivers great sharpness and reach in a very portable package. The internal autofocus is completely silent, which is a huge plus when I'm recording video, and the built-in optical stabilization is a lifesaver for handheld shots zoomed all the way in to 210mm. It does need good light due to the f/6.3 aperture at the long end, but for outdoor shooting, travel, and casual wildlife, it’s an unbeatable value.
