The weight of normal suitcase/luggage adds to the total weight so you can carry less. If you use this, you can carry more since the weight of this bag is real light. Fold it up to take with you for dirth clothes if you want. If you need extra room, you can put your carry on in there along with some clothes so it counts as one bag. I think this is useful in a weight conscious airline industry.
