Travelsox Men's Standard Patented Graduated Compression Travel, Black, Medium

I bought these socks for the sole purpose of having something to wear during long-haul flights to prevent swelling. I travel long distances fairly regularly, and every time I do, I end up with terrible swelling in my feet, ankles, and calves. I should add that I am the kind of person that does everything right on those long flights--I get up and move around often, I do stretches and exercises, I drink lots of water, I take anti-inflammation medicine--but nothing seems to work. I would say on a swelling scale of 1 to 10 (1 being "normal" and 10 being "needs medical attention"), my swelling would be at an 8/9. It would be so bad that it would take days for the swelling to go down. So, for an upcoming trip to Adelaide, Australia from Minneapolis, I decided to purchase these compression socks to see if they made any difference. Boy, did they ever! The total travel time I had from start to finish for this trip was about 30 hours one-way (for the flights, including transit and layovers). I still had some swelling, but I would only rate it as a 3 on the scale. What a huge improvement! Additionally, the swelling that I had was completely gone the next day, which made it easy to get back into my active routine. I was really happy with my purchase and wish I had gotten these sooner! I will never travel long distances without them again! I am a 5'11" woman with size 11 shoes and I purchased a medium. They were still a bit too big. I actually accidentally put them in the dryer after their initial washing (which it says not to do) and found that the bit of shrinkage helped them to work better and feel more comfortable.

Support stockings are one of the best investments you can make if you are taking a long flight.. These are very comfortable, provide the right amount of compression, and unlike the TEDS hose I am accustomed to seeing as a nurse these are easy to get on and off. I bought several additional pair after the first ones arrived as I liked them so much. They are great and can be worn all day for extra support and to prevent tired legs if you will be walking all day during your travels.

Bought these for an upcoming flight to China, but wore them on a 3 hour flight this week just to try them out. I wear a shoe size 9 (women's) and the medium fit just right ... just a little long, but haven't been washed yet. The leg part fit snugly, but not too tight, and they felt great all day! My only caution is they are very thick, as someone else mentioned. Since I wore them with tennis shoes, wasn't a problem, but they'd never work with some of my shoes! They also are very warm, which I'm sure will be welcome on a long flight.

Nicely constructed and just the right amount of compression. I wear these while traveling on a weekly basis and they are very comfortable with a nice amount of heal and footbed padding. They are a good value for the quality of design and construction. I’ve been wearing compression type socks for over twenty years and find these to be some of the best.

This is my second purchase. First set still going strong after 3 months. Wanted a second pair to rotate usage. Folks it seems with compression socks you do get what you pay for. I purchase another brand at half the price and they lasted one day (started to unravel from the top) These socks are comfortable very durable and work extremely well. I do wash every other day. After 3 months of wearing every day the first pair shows no wear at toes or heal. I highly recommend Travelsox. They cost a little more but in my option are worth the cost.

I'm 80 years old and have a problem with fluid retention causing swelling and some discomfort in my lower exttremties, especially in my ankles and feet. Travelsox provides a comfortable amount of compression and stimulates blood flow in my ankles and feet, almost completely eliminating the swelling, They are as easy to wear as any other sock

As support socks go, these are very comfortable and fairly easy to put on. I ordered medium for me and large for my husband. The medium are a little long on me but I can ease the stretch to get a smooth fit. I forget they are on. As a bonus, they are nice and warm in chilly weather or on a plane where my feet and legs generally get cold. I ordered a second pair for each of us. They hand wash beautifully and dry over night if you squeeze them well in a towel before hanging to dry.

Good fit and not tight because of the material

Great travel socks. Heavier and thicker than the other brand I've used but that makes them warmer for the cool floor air on a plane, and easier to handle as you pull them over your legs. These socks are also great when you are standing for long periods of time on the job.

The fit well and I wore them throughout a flight without discomfort. As for whether they are effective, I am not qualified to say - but flight socks are recommended to prevent or lessen the chance of deep vein thrombosis, so I used them.
