Outstanding refeshing read you will not want to put down
This is the first book I have read/listen to by this author it will not be the last. There was nothing I didn't like, the author gave a compelling story of power, needs, wants, pain, trust, honor as we are reminded that things are not always as they seem. I thought the author sent a powerful message along with a wonderful plot. Two people come together in an arranged marriage so both can come out ahead. For Samantha she just wanted to be able to take care of her sisters needs. Samantha was a wonderful caring, loving, compassionate character. She looked out and helped so many, is it any wonder why everyone around her fell in love with her. She had lost so much in a short time no one can blame her for getting married for money when it was done for the love of her sister. She is a very strong stubborn women who believes on standing on her own, she lets her actions speak for her but gives so much of herself.Blake is powerful but caring and will not give up the money for family reason. No he doesn't need it but his mother and sister do. He might be an alpha male but he is a compassionate one to those he loves. He is rich due to his hard work not what his father left him. He spent his life proving to his father he could stand on his own and make something of his self. His father isn't willing to let go not even in death, his father must have control. One things leads to another and these two are in over their heads. Things were done and said that might tear them apart before they can work out how they really feel about each other. To many hands in the pot stirring up a mess of trouble for any good to come of this.I thought this was a wonderful plot, the author gives you a page turner that you can't put down. The narrator brings that story to life in a way that keeps you hanging on to each word. The author gives the read mystery that you do not see coming, she puts just enough twists and turns to keep you interested and before you know it with the narrator you are done and left wanting more from both the author and the narrator. I enjoy a humorous read with meaning which I felt the author gave you. In my book this was more than a 5 star read. I would have liked to have known what happen to the people behind the scam and if anything happen to the firm in question. In no way does this take away from the story just something I would have liked to have known.Sometimes when we try to out smart people it comes back to bite us as Samantha and Blake found out. I can relate to the characters in this book family should mean more than anything to us as these wonderful characters showed us. Yes they came out ahead if things go as planned but they never thought of their selves just of their families needs. I feel sure if I was in either ones of their shoes I very well would have done the same thing. To make sure your family is taken care of without hurting others I could see a lot of people following along in their shoes. I found this story to be very believable with wonderful caring characters. I will be checking out more books by this author and expect she will be added to my favorite author's list very soon.

An Unexpected Husband
How plans set up to benefit both parties in a year long contract. End up going south when unexpected things in life happen and both parties fall in love with each other.

Great
I loved the storyline. Sometimes love just happens. What started out as a contract ended with real love for each other.

almost an enjoyable read
I only read the book to find out “the who done it”. I skipped many pages because love isn’t just about spelling out how to go about sex. I enjoyed the love story. Could have been better written. I don’t think I”0’ll read any more of her books!

A unique twist to the contract trope.
Contract marriages are one of my favorite tropes and I have been wanting to start this series for a while now. I read the spinoff series and was super intrigued to see how it all began. I like that it begins with the woman who started it all.Sam started the Agency that pairs Socialites up with very rich men who need a wife. It's more of a business contract than it is a matchmaking company. Most of these men need a wife temporarily and Sam brokers the deal to protect both parties. It's the perfect temporary situation until Sam's client decides he would rather have her than the women she has presented to him.Blake is a bit of a playboy before Sam. Really, he is just a guy who never found a woman he wanted to spend more time with. He was also pretty cautious due to his wealth and how that draws in fake people. When his father's will stipulates he must be married by 36 to gain the title and estate, this brings him to Sam and the agency. Sam is open to the deal with Blake due to her huge expenses in taking care of her sister. He offers her a deal she just can't pass up.This was a quick and very enjoyable read. I look forward to seeing who will be the next couple to be paired up.

Reviewed for A Drop of Romeo
Wife by Wednesday is the first instalment of Catherine Bybee’s Weekday Brides series. Blake Harrison needs a wife fast to meet the stipulations set in his father’s will and he’s given the card for Alliance – a dating agency owned by businessman Sam Elliot that specialises in matchmaking men with women that do not want love but someone to help them be financially secure. What Blake did not expect was that Sam was actually short for Samantha and not Samuel. Or that Samantha would be beautiful and exactly what he’s looking for. So Blake offers his contract to Sam. One year of marriage and he would pay her sister’s hospital fees. It’s confession time. Marriage for convenience is one of my all time favourite clichés and Bybee delivers beautifully with ‘Wife by Wednesday’. It delivers two stunningly attractive characters that believe they are just in this relationship to get what they want – Blake his father’s estate and Sam can pay her family’s hospital fees – but they are also fighting the obvious chemistry that sizzles between the two of them. When they finally give into their desires, they are still fighting to believe that it isn’t love. It’s just a business contract that will be over in one year. Through Bybee’s fantastic writing, you can feel yourself as the reader vouching for these two characters to admit their feelings with each passing chapter.Wife by Wednesday may follow a cliché pattern of romance writing but it’s a refreshing, captivating read that has left me wanting to read the remaining novels in this series.

Honestly very good
I read and listened to this book as part of a group reading challenge. What a breath of fresh air for a change to read a light-hearted book. I loved both main characters and their honesty to each other which was great to read in a book. It frustrates me each time I read in a book that the couples don’t talk to each other and there’s a misunderstanding and they break up. I want to scream talk to each other! But not this book. I highly recommend reading this book. And the narration superb!
