Good for respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis, bacterial skin infections, and cold sores.
Thuja is a coniferous tree, of the Cupressaceae family, and normally does not grow very tall. There are five species in the Thuja genus, two native to North America and three native to eastern Asia. The North American species are: Thuja occidentalis = white-cedar, and Thuja plicata = Western red cedar. The Asian species are: in Japan, Thuja standishiz. in China, Thuja orientalis. and in Korea, Thuja koraiensis. Thuja is sometimes called white-cedar to distinguish it from the true Cedar species. Although it looks like a Cedar, it is in fact only distantly related to the Cedar genus. The species, Thuja plicata, is also known as the Western Red Cedar because of it orange-red wood and also being a native to Western Canada and North West USA. Other common names are: yellow cedar, white cedar, or swamp cedar. However, despite ‘cedar’ in the name, this tree is not a true cedar but a Cypress tree.Thuja essential oil is derived from the steam distillation of its leaves and branches. Doesn't work for me
Being of a certain age, I have rather a lot of 'skin tags' mainly around my upper torso. So I was keen to try this Thuja Essential Oil because I was given to believe that it would reduce or remove them. I took some photographs of a few of them with a view to posting 'before and after' images here alongside this review.Sadly, there's not much point in posting those images because the 'before' and the 'after' look the same. This oil did not reduce the size of any of my skin tags, and did not remove any of them. This was very disappointing.I can confirm that the smell isn't very nice but I would have happily tolerated that if the product worked. One of the possible reasons for the failure, at a guess, is because the oil is quite watery and runs off the skin tag too easily. If only it was a cream that stayed in one place, it would stand a better chance of doing what it is designed to do. As it is, though, the oil runs all over the place and ends up in places where it's not needed.

Works like magic and is currently helping with my wart on my thumb.
I’ve been reading into what can be used as a natural remedy for warts. I have a wart on the side of my thumb and its just honestly one of the ugliest things to have in my opinion. I read about this oil and thought if it’s all natural then there shouldn’t be much to worry about regarding side effects and all so when I saw it on test and review I grabbed it as soon as possible to try. I’ve been using it for over 3 weeks now not every single day if I’m honest every two days and I’m honestly seeing a big change in the wart it’s not as fought and seems to have gone down. I have my hopes up and I’m praying that this can help me get rid of it, it’s not completely gone but when it does I’ll update my review incase someone else out there is having a similar problem.

Cold sore cure
Can't really fault this. Presentation is good. I buy lots of essential oils but I've never come across this company before. I'm currently trying a few of their oils and so far I'm happy with them.I use thuja combined with camphor oil on my cold sores at the first sign of an outbreak (essential oils should not be used without a carrier oil). Anyway, for me this is the perfect solution but I'm not sure if it's more the camphor or the thuja but they both work well together.

A beautiful cedarwood
Comes in a 10 ml bottle with separate pipette. The oil is not too thick but is a very rich, vibrant cedarwood. Quite churchy somehow. Seems a good quality authentic product as the aroma stays strong for a long time. Love it.

Pine smoke aroma
I have to agree with the other reviewer regarding the scent of this oil. I knew it would be a pine smell as Thuja is a pine. But this oil does have a very smokey smell too. If you can imagine burning pine incense then you’re just about there. I’m sure a lot of people would be very pleased with the smell, but it’s not for me.After ordering this product, I have since learned that Thuja use is reported as having some negative health issues As such, I feel the need to remind users that this oil is not for consumption.

Didn’t like the fragrance
I requested the Greenwood pure Thuja oil to test and review, but unfortunately when testing the oil I didn’t personally like the fragrance. The essential oil which is used for massaging had a fragrance, that I personally found it smelt like conifer pine trees and ash. The Greenwood Thuja essential oil had a cap that had to be removed from the bottle before the dropper could be inserted. Overall a easy essential oil bottle to use with the dropper, but an unpleasant fragrance.
