GM Genuine Parts 213-928 (15326386) Engine Cooling Temperature Sensor

Identical to OEM for 1991 Chevy 1500 Silverado 350 in fit and finish. For some time truck has been hard to start. Sometimes the gas pedal had to be floored to get started, then I'd have to jack the pedal until the engine smoothed out. More recently it began idling fast, but otherwise running ok. Finally, a week or so back, after it warmed up, it would die as soon as I gave it any gas. By cranking while flooring the gas pedal, I could restart it fairly readily, but it would exhaust a fog (un-burned gasoline). Clearly truck was being flooded (this tbi truck engine evidently is among those designed to clear intake by cutting fuel delivery when pedal is floored, which is why it would start with pedal to the metal). Had to disable one of the two injectors (removed one injector connector) to keep truck running long enough to be able to move it out of driveway (running on one injector worked, whereas on two the engine would die, indicating too much fuel was being injected). If you have good spark at the plugs, timing is right, compression is good, fuel is being delivered, and air filter is reasonably clean (and you otherwise have good cranking) - this is most likely your no-start/hard-start/flooring-required-to-restart issue. Easy fix. Be careful when removing the connector-if as old as mine, the catch is brittle. Loosen old CTS until it can be turned by hand, then quickly swap with new. If engine is cold, loss of coolant need be no more than nominal (relieve pressure first if engine is warm). Proper tool is 19mm deep 6 pt socket, but 3//4 6 pt works fine. With this new CTS, my Silverado is running like new, and I expect I will get much improved fuel economy with this new ACDelco 213-928 CTS.

Can’t go wrong with a factory part. I ordered this to replace a 26 year old part that ultimately gave up. It was a little difficult to replace due to the tight area where it was mounted but I got it done within an hour. So far it works just fine.

Check engine light came on, and it seemed like either this sensor or the thermostat was the problem based on a code reader result. I replaced the sensor first and the check engine light turned off. So far, all seems good. Make sure you have a deep socket to screw it in.

Was having a hard time with the cold weather and stalling inconsistently, narrowed it down to the coolant temp sensor (not the temperature sending unit sensor on the side of the block... different part #) swapped this out in the driveway and runs better than it had probably run in over 10 years! 10/10 exact replacement for 350 small block GM. Would 100% buy again

Easy install on a 2000 GMC with 6.5TD. Goes by dual thermostat housing on top front of motor, this is the sender that tells ECM your motor temp and changes timing and fuel for a cold start. If your 100% sure all your glow glugs are working fine and no air in fuel lines leaking air into fuel system, but always has a rough start only when motor is cold. All you have to do is disconnect the 2 wire connector to your existing sender, start your engine and if your truck starts fine, you need this part! I just waited till motors cold, open rad cap to relieve any pressure and unscrew old one, put a finger over the hole to stop antifreeze from pouring out. And with new one at hand, quickly install new one. Do it fast and only lost about 1/2 cup of coolant if that. Top off reservoir if necessary. Only took 10 minutes.

Works great I got it for holley sniper efi as the one in the kit was off by 18 degrees
