Brass Coated Steel, May Not Look Nice For Long.
Meh... This thing is handsome, it's definitely heavy duty, it would look stately on a well done large home on a grand arched door, BUT it is brass coated steel so it probably will not look nice past a couple of years of exposure, hand oils, daily use etc. Good thing I'm only using it for my son's busy board. I wouldn't recommend it for your home honestly. Three stars for being heavy duty and handsome, minus two and my recommendation to buy it due to cheap brass foil coating...
