Review: Great product - Product as advertised. I used for many months now. Battery lasts great! I retrieve data over optical cable for analysis on the macOS - no problems there.
Review: Nice weather meter. - Pretty accurate device. The only issue is that the air temperature reading is slow to adjust when the winds are calm, especially if you take the device from inside a warm house out into the cold. Point the thermistor into the wind and the temperature will adjust more quickly. Update: I recently visited the summit of Mt. Washington and got to test this Kestrel meter. The altimeter and barometer adjusted perfectly as we ascended the auto road to the summit at 6288'. Works fine at 800 millibars and in strong winds. Altimeter matched the altitude marked on poles along the road.

**Q: Altitude measurements If you are moving from a low location to a high location, I’ll it automatically change altitude measurements as altitude changes**
A: This unit uses a pressure sensing barometer.  It must be initially calibrated from a known height or barometric pressure.  After that, all readings will use the current pressure/altitude.  A great unit.

Pretty accurate device. The only issue is that the air temperature reading is slow to adjust when the winds are calm, especially if you take the device from inside a warm house out into the cold. Point the thermistor into the wind and the temperature will adjust more quickly. Update: I recently visited the summit of Mt. Washington and got to test this Kestrel meter. The altimeter and barometer adjusted perfectly as we ascended the auto road to the summit at 6288'. Works fine at 800 millibars and in strong winds.
