AcuRite Digital Clock, 18-Inch / Red

I bought this clock in August to help my kids keep track of the time and date for cyber schooling. I wasn't sure how I'd like a blazing red LED institutional looking clock on my wall and I was a little concerned the light would overwhelm the room. I initially preferred blue, but the price was so much higher I went with red. I decided to go with Acu-Rite over an unknown brand because I have their hygrometer that still works great five years later. Turns out, we love the clock. The red is bright and has a nice, smooth glow, but doesn't burn your eyes or discolor the room. I can easily read it from two rooms over, so I can do chores and still make sure my kids are online at the right time. There was a problem, though. Just a little over a month after hanging it on my wall, I woke up in the morning and the display was completely black. I tried another outlet, which confirmed that the clock did not work. Since it was past the return date on Amazon, I went to Acu-Rite's website and chatted with a representative. (Currently, they only offer support through chat and email due to COVID.) While on chat, I provided my receipt and pictures, and THAT SAME DAY, they shipped out a replacement. Two days later I have a working clock before the start of a new school week! I hope this new clock works for years like my hygrometer. While I can't speak to the longevity of this unit, many people seem happy with theirs based on the high reviews, and at the very least, I can say that Acu-Rite stood behind their warranty and acted extremely quickly with respect to sending out a replacement.

I wanted this product because I am handicapped and the bed rail and my bad back prevent me from looking onto my nightstand very well to see the time. I mounted it high on the wall at the end of my bed and it is perfect. Very visible. The 10 inch version of this clock (I got the white led) has brightness settings you can toggle through or there is a 6th step which is automatic dimming at night. The cord is very long and there is a cord winder behind a plastic plate on the back to store excess cord. The power adapter is very small. It uses about 10 watts of electricity. Setting it is very easy, there is a daylight saving time switch in the cord winding bin on the back. I am very pleased with this clock, it exactly met my expectations. Easy to read across the room, not too bright, (adjustable) very clear digits. This clock has no alarm, temperature readout or any other data. It is simply a clock. It takes 2 AAA batteries to keep the time set during a power failure. Arrives in a generic brown box. Very nice.

Excellent large display and very visible, not to bright at night, thermostat is fairly close, I would not base my day off of it but it's a close reference point. Keeps time very well the battery backup is a Plus. Have had absolutely no issues the cord is extremely long with storage in the back for access cord which is nice I've had this for over a year and is still working perfectly I got a blue one and a green one the blue one is good it's not too bright at night the green one I have in my shop and at night it's fairly bright both are legible from 40 50 feet away would highly suggest to others if looking for a good visible digital clock with thermostat and date I would buy again

Great clock. The 14", red digits are quite large for a bedroom but works well and is accurate to a second in a couple weeks. This is a very, very bright display which is too bright for my bedroom. I solved this very nicely and easily with 2 layers of window tinting film. From the local auto parts store I bought a roll of Gila Window Tint, 35%, regular smoked, cheapest version, which costs less than $10. Cut 2 pieces of the film that will cover the flat area of the clock face. It doesn't have to be exact. Then take a small bowl of water add some soap or a little dish washing liquid. Moisten a tissue with this soapy water and liberally apply to the front of the clock. Then apply the first layer of tinting film and starting from the center use a dry tissue and your finger to push air bubbles out towards the edge until flat. It doesn't have to be perfect. If you want the clock to be dimmer then apply another layer of film but instead of soapy water use something like a water-based lubricant such as KY jelly or vegetable oil. I found that the second layer of film didn't stick to the first layer using soapy water. Push out the air bubbles. You could also just tape the film to the clock face. If the clock had a dimmer control it would be 5 stars. [Edit 01] It's been over a month and the clock is still doing great in my bedroom since I solved the brightness issue. I've found that the temperature is very useful as it sets the tone for the night. It's kept accuracy to within 3 seconds in the last month. Well done.

I can't recommend this clock enough! I have to admit to being exceptionally pleased with it. It arrived exactly as I expected and is perfect for a home gym atmosphere. I mounted it high for wide visibility and it really set a great tone. The red color is nice and vibrant, not over powering but clearly visible from a wide angle and the picture attached is somewhat washed out (the color is more vibrant that it looks on camera). It was suuuper easy to program and I had it on, set, and mounted in 10 minutes. One note, and this is not a bad thing about it, but the battery compartment is strictly used in the event of power failure from the wall source. The clock display will go off, batteries don't keep it illuminated, but the settings and time are all kept current and resume when power is restored. So plug it in, put in the batteries, and disconnect the wall plug to mount it and there will be no issues with having to reset it. Overall for something as simple as a clock, I am really pleased and would definitely recommend it. Also, I didnt think the in room temperature reading would be useful, but since its in a home gym, it really is!!

Love how big this clock is. Can see it from a long distance. Keeps excellent time. Easy to setup.

I have had this clock in my garage for a little over 6 years. It is plenty bright enough. The size allows it to be seen pretty much anywhere in me oversize 3 car garage. It doesn't like the cold. When it gets cold around 35*, certain areas of the clock goes black. It also loses time up to 10 minutes a month. Other than that it has suited my purpose quite well.

Edited at the end. Needed a easy to view time piece in my garage so that I didn't have to pull my phone out of my pocket or goto the speakers where I may have it plugged in for music to see what time it is, since I work second shift and do my garage stuff at night, and as such I like to know what time it is so I know when to call it a night. This clock is giant, and extremely easily visible from any point in my 3 car garage/workshop. It's very bright but it's never used without the shop lights on, and in full lighting very easy to see. I've had it a few weeks now and the time is still on point. Edit: I did realize a while later that the clock never seeme to read a degree lower than 32F. It was kind of making me wonder if my insulation in my garage was less efficient than I thought at points as my propane heater took much longer sometimes to increase the temperature than others. Seems some days the temperature in my garage was well below 32 and I didn't know it. I can't knock a star off because I bought it specifically for keeping time in my garage, and probably somewhere mentions the temperature range but I didn't notice, or it's not meant for low temperature use. I'll probably get another thermometer meant for these purposes at some point but really all I wanted was a huge, easily visible clock. Maybe not for large range temperature testing but I kind of repurposed it for that use after I bought it.

I bought this around 10 months back and it’s still running strong. The battery helps for the backups. It has an auto light feature that dims to ensure I have a nice sleeping experience. If you need, you can always get the dimming stickers and stick it to the display to further better your experience. Anyways, it’s a good product, no complaints so far! 🧿

Buon prodotto si vede molto bene la numerazione un bel rosso acceso peccato però non fa le 24 ore ma solo le 12.. in più tocca munirsi di adattatore spina dato che arriva con l attacco spina europeo tipo inglese

I like this clock very much as it has very large and very bright numbers. It also shows, both a calender, clock and temperature, and very easy to set up, and very easy to see even when you are across the room. Great product, great price. I have this clock on the wall about 5 feet abve the floo; it makes it easy to see all the time date and temperature very easy. Fantastic clock !!!

compare varios modelos de reloj digital para el hogar y este para mi gusto es el mejor, ya que tiene brillo automático cuando oscurece baja la intensidad del brillo y lógicamente cuando hay luz de día aumenta el mismo. con este ya son tres reloj de este modelo y marca y le doy 10 de 10 , pareciera que tiene un costo algo alto comparado con otros modelos y marcas pero vale la pena la inversión
