1. Good quality, sturdy (it actually seems like great quality for the price, but reserving judgment since I’ve only had it a couple weeks) 2. The chairs have a full adult-sized seat, so it’s comfortable. 3. Just be aware that the chairs don’t fully slide under the table - as you can see in photos, there’s not space to push them in. To me, this is fine because it means the chairs are full sized versus “dainty” enough to squeeze under a 42” table. 4. The chairs have an outward curve to the backrest - I find it to be comfortable, but if you’re big on straight posture, you might prefer more of a straight backed chair 5. I like the oak wood color, it’s rich (slight variations in the table top and some of the chairs, but that’s fine with me) 6. I’ve read in other reviews that the table top can scratch easily, so I put those small foam stickers on the base of the centerpiece just in case 7. The price here is better than this same dining set on any other website (those can go up to $1,000). 8. Assembly was reasonably straightforward (more so than any other flat pack furniture I’ve bought before) - more details below on that. Assembly comments: - Everything came well-packed and in perfect condition (it’s around 4 very large, oversized boxes, but that’s good because there aren’t as many pieces to put together). - Recommend paying the extra (when you check out) to have them carry the boxes to your room of choice (I think there might also be an option to pay for assembly). - I’m glad my contractor was there to lift and place the table top piece onto the pedestal - might have been a bit challenging on my own. - For the chairs, you attach the front two legs to the seat, then the entire backrest and back legs are one solid piece that you attach. Straight forward. - Slightly annoying using the allen wrench in tight spaces under the chair, but it was fine (I mostly screwed them in with my hand, then just tightened using the allen wrench. Ignore the mess in the pics,,we’re renovating. Happy dining!

I ordered this and did not have the highest of expectations, but needed something and figured if it got me through the rest of the year it would be worth the money spent. I was shocked when I got it... the quality is amazing, solid table and chairs. I was able to put everything together myself and it did not take me all day to do so. Couple hours (only because I was watching tv and playing with my dogs at the same time). I sat in one of the chairs and was shocked again.. the size of them are amazing. I am so happy I purchased this and I know I will be using it for a long time.

For the money, this is a fantastic dining set. Really, really top notch for under $500. Solid wood, good painting / finish quality, and just very nice to look at. If you're on a budget and don't want to end up with a rickety IKEA set that's going to fall apart and get destroyed in 5 years, this is a much better investment. It's also very easy to assemble - you could honestly do it without the instructions if you had to. Try that with IKEA furniture. My only gripe is the chairs. They're good, but they could be better. When assembled, 2 of the 4 we received wobble. Once you sit in them and loosen up the joints, though, they do wobble less (invite some big friends to dinner!). After putting on furniture pads, they don't wobble at all. They do creak a bit, though. Hopefully that will lessen over time. As for the table's scratch-susceptibility, yeah, it's probably going to be an issue if this is something you're going to use a lot. Placemats are a good idea, and just be vigilant with coasters. If you have kids, spraying some polyurethane on is an option, but I honestly think it makes most furniture look cheap / tacky.

We recently moved and donated or given away most of our household furnishings with the intent to replace them with new items when arrived in our new state of residence. We needed a small table for our eating nook in the kitchen area until our dinning room table arrived and was set up. I looked locally at the furniture stores and either they only had expensive dining room suites or the ones that were like we wanted had to come from a warehouse 65 miles away and the delivery and setup fees were about the same price as the table/chair sets. I looked at Amazon and was surprised to find hundreds of sets with prime or free delivery. We picked this particular set as it was very reasonably priced had decent looking chair and table design and the colors would match the area nook area. For some reason it two deliveries to get the complete set. The first delivery contained 3 boxes with two chairs in a box and one box with the pedestal only. I panicked, but the next day a large box containing the pedestal legs and table top arrived. Everything was well packed with the usual Styrofoam and cardboard. It took us a half a day to get everything assembled but I went slow and took my time. Everything fit together perfectly and the instructions were easy to understand. It even has extra bolts and washers just in case. All the pieces use captive nuts for screwing the bolts into and the captive nuts are firmly locked into place. There is a slight difference between the front and back legs of the chairs so you have to pay attention to which ones are which. The bottom of the chairs legs already have ant-scuff nylon (?) pads attached, and the table's legs also have pads that are adjustable for uneven surfaces. Overall, the quality seems to be excellent, with no bolts coming loose and no creaking noises like many cheaper quality sets. My original intent was to only use this table temporarily then donate it and purchase "good" quality set. I'm rethinking that now as I'm very pleased with this low cost alternative. As a side note I used a ratcheting screw driver with removable tip rather than the provided Allen wrenches. I could get more torque and screw the bolts in faster with this type of screw driver.

Color of table top is very "orange" compared to what's pictured. Didn't work for me
