The unit rusts in freshwater. 2 years in and you will have to pay about 1,000 in the gear and couplers. They need to make it zinc plated or stainless steel. Poor design and engineering.

We have had ours in a clear Florida fresh water lake for two summers. It works great when it runs. We already had to buy new couplers and tube connectors because of rust. $1200.00. We also had to change all the bolts to stainless $400.00. Now the drive shaft base, the part that turns is rusting away. Also the drive shaft tube is splitting also the tube cover as split. Now it will not set to run the 180 degrees rotation. When it works it does real well and keeping us a clear sandy bottom. But now with the other parts that are bad, we are scared what this will cost. When we bought the unit we bought all the extras you can buy with it. They told us you can buy up to 3 extra tubes for a extra 21 feet. Then to next time i talked to them they said only run up to 5. Then why sell us 6? But we found out it does not work well with more than 4 tubes, for a total of 28 feet. We bought our unit from weeders digest.

We got this thing last summer and it’s so flippin great. It can turn the weediest muckiest lake bottom into a pristine sandy, fun place to swim. I hate weeds. Ever since I was a kid I have hated them. I never imagined there would ever be a product like this, but here we are. This summer we hooked up all three rollers. It actually works better with more rollers because it gets better traction. I’m going to try to upload a video if I can so you can see it in action! Anyway, as you can tell I’m super pumped about the lake groomer, which we ended up naming “rolly”. The price tag is steep, but you get what you pay for. It really works and the degree to which it works is friggin astonishing. Ps: I’m a real person and this is a real review.
