is the thread cotton or polyester?

Not sure if it's cotton or polyester, however it's great for simple fixes.

Sorry if this is a silly question but can you use the thread for sewing machines?

I am not sure. I bought for a gift for my niece who got her first sewing machine on her 11th birthday in December.

Hi does anyone know the size of crochet hook in this set

Very small hook as shown against a 50p piece

are the threads cotton or polyester?

I’m not sure. However, if this helps, the threads are smooth. I’m pleased with them.
