Fast, Solid, Reliable, Perfect machine in every way!
This is by far the best unit I have used in a NAS. The setup is simple, the options are extensive, the quality is solid! I just wish I could afford a second one! The memory is easy to upgrade and the file transfers are plenty fast. I use plex server on mine and have a little ove 400+ movies that play with out a hitch. I also use it as storage for all my machine backups along with being my file share server with family.I have had several NAS but I have found Net Gears Readynas to be the best out of them all. Good Job Net Gear! Thank you for a great solid performing product!

Great way to upgrade from a 2 bay Netgear Nas; Rackmount even better!
Upgraded from 2-bay ReadyNas 312 that was at capacity. This new unit is at least twice as fast, and has twice the space with 4 bays. Installation was absolutely seamless: powered old and new down, removed drives from old, put them in order in new, powered up new, voila! All configurations and data were intact. An excellent way to upgrade from 2 bay netgear intel based NAS. Chose the durability of the rack mount and 4 ports over the 2 port desktop based models even though they have slightly faster cpus. The rack mount option and 4 ethernet connections were my deciding factors. Highly recommend.

Works really well as a Plex Server
I bought this primarily as a Plex server replacement. It is doing this very well and I have no complaints at all for this. I also own a Synology NAS and I have to say that it is easier to use, more intuitive then the Readynas. This is actually the only reason I gave the Readynas 4 stars. Performance-wise, the readynas is superior to the Synology. This is largely due to the cpu in the Readynas.

Network storage for our church
The NAS has lots of features and was easy to set up, and with solid state drives, its very fast!

It only took a few minutes to install the disks and get the NAS operating. The web-based application for setting up and managing the NAS is easy to use.
