It sharpens the hooks well and has a nice solid handle. My only real gripe is that’s the side labeled coarse is the fine side and the fine side is labeled coarse. Otherwise would have been 4out 5. Should really be like 4 dollars.

This hook file is great for the price, one side will remove metal quickly the fine side will sharpen to a razor point. Cant beat it for the price.

To me the cutting area was way to short for a good sharpening draw on either a small or larger hook. For larger than a #1 hook I went back to small flat file. The cutting edge does cut but way to slow. Easy to store in a tackle box.
