I first experienced the classic Kurma mats while working in Spain one summer and taking classes at a local Iyengar studio. Best mats I'd ever seen, so I ordered one when I returned home. I have been happy with that mat, but it did come with a slick coating on it, and the recommendation to scrub it down with a soft brush and salt, which I had to do repeatedly. The classic mats are supposed to get more sticky with use and time, too. I was pretty happy with that mat, but decided to buy one of these new Grip LITE ones because the classic one is a bit heavy and thick to travel with. WOW, what a difference! This one was grippy from minute one, no salt solution required, and it's grippier than the one I'd scrubbed down and have been using for a couple years now. Due to being thinner it's not QUITE as comfortable to kneel on as the classic Kurma mat (I don't need any blanket under my knees to be comfortable in kneeling poses on that one), but the density of the material makes it still more comfortable than most mats. I think unless I'm going to hold those poses for a long time, I will just forego any blanket under my knees. This is a great mat (and a beautiful color -- I have the teal), and I'm happy about the environmental consciousness that goes into them and the lifetime warranty, too.

I researched many yoga mats before deciding on this one. I was recommended this mat by my yoga friends and I am so glad I made this purchase. I really like the texture, it feels soft but durable. This mat offers plenty of cushioning and it stays in place on the hard wood floor. There is a good amount of grip, but in super sweaty conditions I needed to use a towel to absorb sweat.I was looking for a closed cell mat because they are more hygienic and don’t absorb sweat and bacteria. I like the fact that this company is all about sustainability. I’ve tried many different yoga mats over the past few years and this mat seems to provide the best all around perfomance. I thoroughly recommend this mat.

I love the look and feel of this mat. The color is deep and rich and it has a nice cushion without being bulky. In addition it has the perfect amount of grip for smooth transitions and extended holds. I practice all types of yogabut am a bit of a hot junkie. I like that even my dark towels do not stain this mat and it cleans up easily. I highly recommend it.

It’s a great yoga mat - heavy enough so it doesn’t slide enough and yet light enough to carry. No strange smell, no peeling. Super comfortable and I like the color!

I used my new mat today. It was great. Very durable but not too heavy. Super comfortable and supportive. I love the color. Easy to clean. Great price too! Highly recommend.

Comfortable solid mat. My hands and feet slipped on the surface, even in regular yoga in my living room. Sent it back.

I bought this product in lieu of the Jade yoga mat, which I've used for years and truly grips/doesn't get slick during use. Kurma though couldn't be farther from that. It's "stickiness" is just some sort of thin sticky film on top of the mat that smells awful of chemicals and doesn't truly grip at all. The second my hands and feet got sweaty I was sliding all over the place - it's really quite dangerous. Total waste of money, I'm tremendously disappointed.

Esta esterilla de yoga no resbala nada, tiene una adherencia perfecta, pero como tiene un color azul medianoche, cuando pasas por encima de ella todo el polvo se queda pegado, se ven todas las huellas.
