Q: Is this one easy to mill salt?

I just got mine and am extremely disappointed. The grinder is plastic, not metal. Only the screw cap on top is stainless, and who really cares about that? Really expensive for plastic. Not really excited about eating plastic with my pepper. The plastic ones sold in grocery stores are specifically one-use and not to be refilled. Maybe this thing is wonderful, but I doubt it. Salt will probably degrade the plastic grinder even faster than pepper will. The plastic is bright white, so that in the picture it looks the same as the metal strip that holds the thing together and so you are thinking subconsciously that it is also stainless. I must say it never said it was stainless. My defective mind made an assumption. You have to be really diligent when ordering online. Drat!

Q: why wont the bottom turn

The top part turns, not the bottom. Mine works fine, but the pepper is very fine and I like courser grinded pepper. I can not regulate how course the pepper comes out.
