Even tho I paid extra for the Amazon set up( $200) the 2 guys both messed up something so I don't know if I would recommend putting it together yourself or paying $200 for it not to be put together right. Amazon did do the right thing and credit me the $ back for the bad assembly of the bed. Although I like the bed , I think it's over priced but EVERYTHING is these days so good luck finding anything cheaper for this quality!

I bought this bed for my five year old son, and he loves it. Weird way to start a mostly negative review, but stick with me here.As with some of the other reviews, we ran into the issue of pieces not being labeled correctly, if at all. None of the boards had labels, so we had to rely on the pictures included with the instructions to figure out what pieces were what. Add to that the hardware was incorrectly labeled as well. Did not make for a good time.We also ended up with an entire board that was drilled incorrectly. Luckily it was supposed to be the mirror image of another piece, so we were able to take measurements from that piece, apply it to the other board, and drill the new holes ourselves.We get the frame together in about 3.5-4 hours due to confusion in the directions and pieces. We start on the drawers, and manage to get the three frames together with little issue. We connect them, and attempt to fit them under the bed. Hard no on that one. The instructions stated we needed to remote one brace from the footboard, which we did, but turns out there's another brace on the headboard that blocks the drawers from all fitting neatly in a row. This brace, however, is not only screwed in, but also glued, so there's no way you can fit them all under there in a row UNLESS you heed another reviewer's comment about switching the two headboard legs around. At that point the bed is made. Too late to go back now!The drawers were a pain in my butt as the grooves for the plywood bottoms didn't line up at all. We spent 2 hours trying to get those built properly, but then gave up. Put one screw on each side and used Gorilla tape to secure the rest of the seams.All in all, if you can deal with 6 hours of blood, sweat and tears for a bed that will make your kid happy - go for it. Otherwise, look elsewhere. Not sure the ends justify the means in this case.

This bed has a ton of storage and it is made of good materials. The only issue my daughter has with the bed is the built in USB charges. They are slow charge so it take forever to charge a cell phone.

Uses real wood (not particle board) which is great!. We had found a similar bed at the furniture store for twice the money. This is just as good, if not better! My only complaint is that nothing was labeled - so assembling took some time. The directions were pretty straight forward but would be helpful if it labeled in the pix which direction the “finished” side should face. After a few bumps we got it together. I put it together mainly by myself and it probably took about 4 hours altogether. Does take at least one other person during some portions of the build process to hold pieces stable and level - as well as for lifting the headboard onto the frame.Seller was very responsive when I had questions regarding shipping.

Overall, I am happy with the bed. However, it is absolutely a terrible experience to assemble. The instructions are horrible and none of the pieces are marked. One piece that showed the headboard trim didn't even resemble the one in the instructions. The build quality was also subpar, so before buying be aware a lot of additional work may be required. I had to tap holes in some of the drawers because the screws would not thread. Several of the router joints in the drawers as well as pre-drilled holes did not align and had to be modified to work. The most annoying issue I ran into was installing the drawer kit. The instructions for building the bed are first then when you build the drawers, it tells you to disregard the original instructions and build certain parts of the bed a different way. This should have been put inside the main instructions, on the first page, so you are aware before you build. Again, it’s an ok bed but for the money, I expected less work and better quality.

This bed is awesome - our kids love it and we're so happy to be able to be able to eliminate our bulky dressers in favor of the integrated dresser drawers. Our kids love hiding in the underbed storage (which is also where their multitudes of extra stuffed animals now live).We had a tricky situation while building and the customer service from Dreamland Furnitire was impeccable. They offered us tons of advice, and even offered to ship replacement parts if needed. It worked out fine and our beds are perfect. (Just make sure to read the instructions in EVERY box before you build - word to the wise.)I do wish the bookcase were a bit taller so it could hold 2 rows of books, and the drawers were slightly deeper to hold bulkier clothes as they get bigger (I imagine we'll need a dresser again when they're teenagers) but all in all it's a unique, sturdy, well-made bed with great features.

Let me start off by saying this is an absolutely beautiful piece of furniture. That being said the instructions leave a heck of a lot to desire. It is only after you have the bed assembled and you begin assembling the drawers that you find out that you have to reverse a bracket. So now I have to take apart the entire bed in order to fit the drawers underneath. I’m including a picture so you don’t run into the same issue I am. Putting the instructions in two different booklets which come in two different boxes, when you know one is going to arrive before the other really is not great....

I normally don’t write reviews, but this was an expensive purchase for our household and it was disappointing. Assembly was hit or miss. Some of the holes were drilled off, making it hard to put screws in correctly. 2 holes weren’t even drilled and we had to drill it ourselves! The top headboard came scratched. It splintered all over. It’s been a week and the bottom support rail broke off. I don’t think it will last a year. Very sad.
