Review: Well made and simple to operate to detect RF - When I ordered this "Bug Detector / Anti-Spy detector", I wasn't sure how well it would work, however after a little practice with it, I'm pleasantly surprised at how good it actually is. The first thing to point out is that this is a general RF (radio frequency) detector. It won't magically point out where transmitting devices are and requires a little knowledge about how to use it and how radio frequencies work. The instruction booklet is far easier to understand that I expected and sets out how to operate this detector in easy steps. In terms of RF detection (any electrical item that produced a RF, including WiFi, phones, wireless cameras, other transmitters and power adaptors, etc) it's simply a case of attaching the short antenna and switching it on via the rotating knob on the top, which also operates the detection strength. It works best with all non-essential devices switched off in the room. You then set it at the minimal sensitivity level, with 1 green light on, then move it around the room until the unit detects a RF. You can adjust the sensitivity throughout via the control knob. Using the "GPS bug" detection is actually a case of detecting magnets. Attach and extend the Flexi probe with LED on the end and press the left button for 3 seconds to change mode. The short antenna is not needed at this point. Move the probe around and it will detect any magnetic fields from devices held onto metal via magnets. I've tested it on small magnetic devices and it illuminates the LED as soon as it picks up a magnet. Finally, the camera lens detector can be used to observe reflections from camera lenses. You switch the red LEDs on and observe through the circular viewer. Overall, this is far more impressive than I expected. It works well, with a little practice. The unit is well built and very simple to operate. Although designed for bugs, this can easily be used arou d the home to detect RF that may be interfering with other devices or that which can disrupt your sleep. I can definitely recommend this device.

A: Not fit for purpose. I had to return this item. It doesn't detect anything.YOU have to make it bleep yourself by turning the dial on to 180°maximum.It will then bleep. It doesn't do what it says on the description.

Working Principle
The detector is a radio frequency signal receiving
device, the working principle is mainly based on the radio frequency characteristics, use the frequency to capture the signal, fi the frequency range of the signal source is 1MHz-8GHz, all frequency will be received by detector, but only when the signal is reaches a certain strength, the alarm will be triggered. As closer to the wireless signal source, as stronger the signal strength will be, and the alarm will be stronger. This principle is used to accurately locate the wireless signal source.

Start scanning the area with your detector.
Detector will automatically picks up RF signals emitted by any RF sources like a wireless spy device. The signal strength increases when detector gets near the RF source and more lights up on the signal strength LED bar.
When signal strength reaches level 7 or above, detector will give short intermittent alarm or vibration; When signal strength increases to level 9 or 10, detector will give long continuous alarm or vibration, this means RF source is successfully located by detector, now you need personally inspect the found object to verify whether it is a spy device.
(Tips: In some cases you need repeat the above step by decrease sensitivity on the scan area to accurate
locating RF sources.)
Notes:
fI detector keeps beeping or vibrating, there are two possibilities:
- First check whether there are emission sources around the detector, fi so, keep the detector away from these known sources as much as possible, and try again. (Common emission sources such as: mobile phones, smart watches, routers or devices from behind the wall/ door, etc.)
- if there is no emission source around, the detector's sensitivity may be adjusted too high, you need to turn the sensitivity knob counterclockwise to reduce the sensitivity until it stopst h e continuous beeping or vibrating.

you find hidden cameras, please turn of lights, close curtains or shutters, etc. to create alow-light environment.
For the detection angle, it will be better fi you look straight through the View Finder or try to rotate the detector in front ofthe eyes by ‡15°, if the angle is too big between the detector and the camera, the detection result will be reduced.)

It was quite simple to set up. So far I have not detected anything so feeling positive about that. I will take it with me on holiday to ensure the rooms I book don’t have any hidden cameras. Very hopeful about this product
