FlicStarter Kit with Hub LR + 4 x

Been looking for a good smarthome switch and have tried a few movement sensors but they are not what I needed for my home or custom buildThis little switch is perfect for my nightlight toilet buildAdded 2x strip lights to both sides of our bed and then added the switch to the top of my bed.. Perfect place and easy to reachNOW when I get out of bed I can see right out to my hall and not fall over the dogs 🤣

The Flic 2 is a great addition to the Alexa world. It is a button with three assignable commands, one click, two clicks or long click. These commands can be assigned to Alexa routines that you can create via the Alexa app. All of this is great, it works. But the price of each button is well over £20. For me I would like a bank of buttons almost like a remote control with multiple buttons. I have actually thought of sticking 3 or 4 buttons on a nice piece of wood to make such a thing. But at over £20 a button it would be an expensive remote. The buttons can work without the Flic Hub but in order for that to work you need your phone or tablet to be in Bluetooth range of the Flic button. The Flic hub is a better option, it takes the bluetooth signal from the button and sends it over WiFi to your Alexa account.There must be an economy of numbers so these things must get cheaper and they probably need a competitor to drive prices down. The only reason I took a star off was because of the price, otherwise 5 out of 5.

I had various smartthings buttons around the house, which work now and then and are very slow as each command has to go to from alexa to smartthings and then back again which is a second or 2. I replaced them with these and I had changed my smartthings buttons to flic buttons in less than 10 minutes. Took me longer than that to setup 1 smartthings button. BRILLIANT product from flic. Worth every penny, they work, and they are fast!

I love the flic buttons, And I have a face place adapter for standard type light switches so that you can easily upgrade and control other smart devices from that one button as well as your main light

It’s a great concept although my family laughs at me in that we have spent years removing switches and moving to virtual assistant (Alexa etc) voice control only to move back to switches. Anything you can do via voice you can alone do with the switch which does limit the value. I have found some nice little shortcuts though with using these like in the middle of the night if I wake up I can start a headspace playing without waking up my wife with using the mobile phone or speaking to Alexa…. I have a movie mode set that gets all the room lighting just right for watching a film and switch all the lights and aircon off in one room without having to repeat to Alexa a few times what I want. That said on the down side the transmission distance isn’t as good as it could be and the partners (hue, Spotify etc) that you can directly control are very limited.. you can go via IFTTT or easier for me Alexa but this removes feature such as “toggle” which for a 3 way switch is a godsend. Anyway, a good toy and has some handy uses but all in all is still a toy.

Easy to use, easy to setup with other smart hubs/devices and easy to stick to wall. Expensive for what they are but forgivable when they work flawlessly like they do.

Complicated setup, wifi or wired, the hub has a password but so does your flic account... good luck.

I used to control my flics via my phone but this proved a bit hit and miss.Fitted the hub mini and now everything is great.Bit expensive but happy i got it.

You can integrate it with Alexa very quickly and it works perfectly! Flic 2 starter kit was a very good choice. I am very satisfied:)

Außerdem muss man sich entscheiden, ob man eine Routine mit diesem Schalter oder einem Sprachbefehl auslöst. Ist viel zu umständlich, ich habe es jetzt mit der App Buttons for Alexa umgesetzt, das geht ganz gut.

Es werden 4 Buttons plus eine Bridge geliefert.Die Flic 2 Buttons sind genial. Mit ihnen fällt das Steuern des Smart Homes leichter.
