Ticonderoga Woodcase Pencil, F #2.5, Yellow Barrel, 12 per pack [Set of 3]

These are my husbands favorite pencils! He has been looking for them and when I saw them with such a great price I surprised him with a bunch of them. It was like he was back at school! They will last him a long time. Thanks.

Ticonderoga pencils are the BEST. They sharpen well without the lead breaking and the F 2.5s don't wear down overly fast, holding the point much longer than the softer grade. I couldn't find them in stores and was delighted to find them on Amazon from this seller at a good price.

My husband likes 2.5 lead pencils and so this was a good way to get them fast and reasonably priced.

They're a bit harder than a #2, so they last longer without dulling. Still, they're dark enough that I can see my handwriting from several feet away.I've used them for years to make notes in my leader guides for classroom courses I teach. I use them to manually annotate Word docs with prompts for stories, examples, videos to show, instructions for what to do next, etc. They allow me to erase or quickly change something as the need arises without committing my notes to ink and then having to reprint a page and rewrite everything.I've tried to convert to more environmentally-friendly Pentel mechanical pencils, but it's just not the same, and I've tried .5mm, .7mm, and .9mm HB, H, and 2H leads, all to no real avail. The triangular point on the wooden pencil is much stronger than the Pentel lead, so I can press harder without breaking the point. Plus, they're just something about the feel and balance of a good wooden pencil. And, then there's the smell!

I remember using this pencil during grade school! I am left-handed and hardness #2 was too likely to smudge and #3 was too light to read, so I got #2.5. My handwriting was (and is) still illegible, but at least it did not smudge! Until now I was unable to even find my old reliable "2.5's"! Now if I could just fix my handwriting I'd be all set!!

This pencil is great because it keeps its point for a while and smudges less than the regular HB2. Slightly a little harder but works well for doing rough sketches and drawing and that's mostly what I use it for. Glad I was finally able to try them out.

I like to use #2.5 pencils rather than regular #2 pencils. The #2.5 use a harder lead that stays sharp longer. Ticonderoga makes a quality product at a reasonable cost. I've been purchasing this brand for years.

Exceptional pencils that are dark enough to scan or copy well, without the smudge of HB lead. I am a professional illustrator and switch to 'F' lead pencils many years ago now. If you compare the price for this set to F leads pencil at art supply stores (that don't even have a nice soft eraser like these), then you'll realize what a great deal these are.
