Does this take standard staples? Does it hold a whole sleeve?

Yes, it does use standard staples. If I understand what you mean by “sleeve” — that’s one length of staples “right out of the box,” meaning you don’t need to beak any off to fit. Yes — as long as there are no staples in the stapler to start, and you gently push the “sleeve” all the way in, against the spring. Also, my staplers have a storage area on the underside, which holds one entire length of staples or sleeve. This is nice when using in an ongoing project, so if you run out, you can reload the staples right then. Just remember to reload the spare for next time!

I have noticed that the staplesends on the back side of the paper don't curve all the way back into the paper, any help?

I ENDED UP BUYIGN 2 ONE WAS PLASTIC AND I HATED IT AND THE OTHER WAS ALL METAL AND I LOVE IT IF PLASTIC ONE GOOD LUCK EXTRA FOR METAL WORTH IT

After stapling, do the staple ends lie flat on the paper, or are they curved/bumpy?

Curved. I love this stapler though. I have tendinitis and this stapler doesn't aggravate my arms at all
