I bought this 9โ fin to use in an Olaian 8โ6โ soft top surfboard. The board, which is obviously aimed at beginners, came with three 4.5โ fins which work just fine. But I thought a board like this would work better with a single fin set up or at least a 2 plus 1 where the center fin is longer than the side fins. The center fin fit well and the plugs for the side fins did the job. Or you can leave the side fins for a 2 plus 1 setup. Iโm just riding the board on small, slow waves so Iโm not particularly focused on fast turning so Iโve always preferred single fin setup.

Fin i received is clear. Correct fitment though my foamy needed a little adjustment (my poor measurement). Holds well to the board. Stiff fin provides more control and stability than the smaller flex fins that came with the board.

Much stiffer than the original fins that came with the board. Yes there's a little flex as others have mentioned, but it's a 9 inch, $20 fin, it's not going to be made of carbon, but it works great in the water! Adds a lot of life to the old wavestorm. The clear looks really cool too. I punched a hole in the traction pad to move the fin forward, and used one of the extra plugs that are provided to cover the hole closest to the tail. I just used a screw driver and pushed it through. Very easy, and works/looks great. I wouldn't recommend using the two standard holes, the fin will nearly hang past the end of the board, and limit controllability. Just look up pictures of actual long boards to see their fin placement for comparison. Overall, well worth the $20. Fun product from a great company.

I used this for a single session on my surfboard before deciding to take it off. Pros: - Easy to assemble, took me like two minutes - Affordable (I payed $20) and readily available Cons: - Biggest drawback is the wobbliness of the fin. Fin should have been manufactured with a stronger and thicker plastic - Fin is sharp! highly recommend sanding down the edge before taking in out It rides well, I noticed it riding looser than with the standard tri fin set up.

I love this fin! Fits my 8'6" Gold Coast Heritage perfectly and I would not ride that board any other way now. Have not had any trouble with loosening screws yet but I also take the fin off and put it back on between each use. Both the board and fin seem like they would not be good to store outside. 12-9-18 update my friend rode it up on the rocks... apparently it shears off at the base when you do that (who knew right?). Glad the fin gave way honestly because the board was completely unharmed! Definitely will order another, I finally tried the tri-fin setup that comes with the 8'-8" heritage and have confirmed that I like the single fin setup way better.
