Hi, yes all made stainless steel.... very nice pots indeed.

Q: On the 5 pc set, do either of the lids fit the skillet?

Yes you can use 2 of the pot lids on the 2 skillets- they fit perfect

Q: The 401488 nsr2-r has nonstick coating. besides that, is there a difference between this set and the d3?

Looks like the set between D3 and this one are virtually similar but for the non-stick coating and major price difference. Current sale price for this is a steal. I bought my set last year at $300 more so if you are considering it, buy it. Non-stick does not last forever though but if you take care of it, should be durable. The stainless steel D3 set will last forever. I have a stainless steel AllClad 10" pan purchased many years ago in 2010 ... Still solid and working... So if you want to splurge on D3 that will also be a good decision.

Q: Do these come with a guarantee?

A guarantee or warranty would only cover defects. I’m going to list characteristics, pros and cons, after a year of service. This is a quality set of pots and pans but, they are heavy as well as heavy duty, the lids get very Hot so be careful. I use the frying pan on an induction top, I get it very hot to sear steaks. It works great and will probably last much longer than a non stick pan but does get blackened with continuous use.
