Would the speed of this card be wasted on a Nikon d750?

Somewhat.  The D750 does not support UHS-II, so you won't get faster write speeds (or in-camera review / editing) than with any decent UHS-I card (like Lexar's own 633x cards, which are less than a third the price at time of writing).  While the 2000x cards will perform more consistently w.r.t. long bursts, your D750 isn't particularly demanding in that respect so the difference would likely be imperceptible.However, given an appropriate UHS-II reader for your computer, you might appreciate the much faster imports from the card.  The 2000x cards can provide read rates three times higher than any UHS-I card, which can reduce your import times e.g. for a full 64 GiB card, from ~11 minutes down to ~4.  However, your computer's storage might become the bottleneck first - e.g. if you're using a regular hard disk drive, you likely won't be able to write your photos to it much faster than a UHS-I card can read, so you won't see nearly as dramatic a benefit (though loading thumbnails & previews in apps like Lightroom will still be significantly faster).  If you have a suitable RAID system, or an SSD, as your photo / video destination, then you should be able to utilise the full read speed of these cards when importing your media.The other factor to consider is future-proofing, as it's likely that whatever camera you replace your D750 with will support UHS-II cards.And thus it falls to you to determine your own preferences, w.r.t. the value of faster imports, & future-proofing.

Will it work on a Canon 5D Mark III?

Yes...but a quote from an internet search reveals "YOU DO NOT want to put a card in the SD slot. Why? Because, for some reason unbeknownst to me, Canon decided to build the 5D Mark III with one very fast CF slot which supports the newer UDMA7 protocol and a standard SD card slot which does NOT support the high speed standard (called UHS - for Ultra High Speed). "

What is its "write speed"?

Write speed depends on the device you use it in. In the included USB 3.0 USB-II reader I measured 272.6 MB/s write speed (CrystalDiskMark benchmark sequential write 1GB random data). In UHS-I mode (in non-UHS-II devices) it measured between 90-94MB/s sequential write.

Has anyone compared the real world, on-camera performance for this card as compared to a typical Sandisk 95MB/s write speed card?

This is a UHS-II card while the 95 MB/s card is a UHS-I card.  They are for different devices and only work in slower compatibility mode if they don't match your device.  There are very few UHS-II cameras right now that can take advantage of the speed of this card.  With a UHS-II reader and USB 3.0 connection to your computer, download speeds should be much faster.  I'd expect real life speeds of 70 MB/s write speed with the Sandisk 95 MB/s card in a UHS-I camera and the same speed for this Lexar card in a UHS-I camera, but cameras vary and the speed may be slower.  I expect 150-200 MB/s speeds for this Lexar card in the Nikon D500 while the Sandisk card will probably still be 70 MB/s.
