Feather-Level Smoothness Without the Feather Price
I’ve been wet shaving for years and tested a wide range of double-edge blades, including ultra-sharp premium options like Feather. The King C. Gillette blades land in a sweet spot of price vs. performance, especially for use in mild razors where a bit of extra sharpness really helps. They deliver a very clean, smooth first pass with minimal drag thanks to the anti-friction coating, and are plenty sharp — I’d say about 90% of the “Feather experience” at a fraction of the cost. Shaves are satisfying and comfortable without the harshness some ultra-aggressive blades can cause. Longevity is average; I typically get a few solid shaves per blade before swapping, which feels reasonable given the performance and price. At 100 blades per pack, the value is outstanding. For anyone running a milder safety razor or looking for a high-performance blade that doesn’t come with premium pricing, these are an easy recommendation.

King C Gillette double edge safety razor blades
The **King C. Gillette Double-Edge Safety Razor Blades** are a solid option for anyone looking to upgrade their shaving routine. Known for their precision and sharpness, these blades are designed to deliver a smooth, close shave with minimal irritation. Whether you're a seasoned wet shaver or a newcomer to the world of safety razors, these blades offer a reliable and consistent performance. One of the highlights of the King C. Gillette blades is their longevity. Compared to cartridge razors, they hold up well and can last several shaves without losing their edge, which makes them cost-effective in the long run. The smooth glide across the skin, aided by their high-quality stainless steel construction, helps to reduce the risk of nicks and cuts. The blade's design is excellent for both face and body shaving, and they fit perfectly in any standard double-edge safety razor. Whether you prefer a light or more aggressive shave, these blades strike a good balance—sharp enough to get a close shave but not so sharp that they cause excessive irritation if used correctly. However, if you're new to safety razors, it's worth noting that double-edge blades require a little more technique and care than disposable razors. Users who are accustomed to the simplicity of cartridge razors might need a learning curve with the King C. Gillette blades. That said, once you get the hang of it, the results are well worth it. On the downside, some users might find that the blades lose their sharpness after a handful of shaves, particularly if they have coarse facial hair. The good news is that they are fairly affordable, so replacing them regularly isn’t too much of an investment. Overall, the **King C. Gillette Double-Edge Safety Razor Blades** are a fantastic choice for anyone seeking a traditional, smooth, and cost-effective shaving experience. They offer an excellent combination of sharpness, comfort, and durability—perfect for anyone looking to elevate their grooming routine.

Perfect Razors
I have the Gillette safety razor and it works so well, I use one per shave and I have no issues with it. It doesn’t irritate my skin and it glides smoothly with shaving cream.

Decent blades, but overpriced compared to better options
Verdict: Decent, widely available blades that work well enough, but overpriced compared to better-performing alternatives. I’ve been using these King C. Gillette double-edge blades for daily shaves with a Dr. Squatch (Henson-style) safety razor. My skin is normal but slightly sensitive, and my beard is coarse, so blades that tug or cause irritation show their weaknesses pretty quickly. Performance: These blades feel reasonably sharp and generally deliver a smooth shave. On daily shaves they perform fine, but I did notice a bit of tugging when dealing with slightly longer stubble. The advertised anti-friction coating does seem to help somewhat — I experienced only minor razor burn and no nicks or ingrown hairs — but they’re not especially forgiving compared to top-tier blades. Longevity: I personally only get 2–3 shaves per blade before performance drops off, which is acceptable but not impressive. Comparison: In terms of shave quality, these are roughly on par with Astra and Derby blades. They’re clearly a step below Feather and Zomchi, which I’ve found to be sharper, smoother, and more efficient on coarse hair. Where this blade really falls short is value: at around $14.99 per 100, they’re noticeably more expensive than superior options like Henson blades (~$9.99 per 100). Bottom line: These will get the job done and are easy to find, which counts for something. But if you’re shaving daily and paying attention to cost per shave, there are better-performing blades at a lower price. Good choice if: you want a safe, middle-of-the-road blade that’s easy to source. Skip it if: you want maximum sharpness, longer blade life, or better value.

Excellent Blades
These seem to get a bad rap among DE shaving enthusiasts for being overpriced, but I think that only applies if you buy the 10-pack at $6.99. For $15 you can get the 100-pack, which is right in the middle of the DE razor blade price spectrum. More expensive than some, but $0.15 for a blade that will last multiple shaves is still vastly cheaper than cartridges. I used Feathers for years because I have extremely coarse hair and they are as sharp as DE blades get, but these are nearly as sharp yet much smoother and more comfortable to me. In my Rockwell 6C on the #5 plate, I get absolutely stellar shaves with this blade. Sharp, comfortsble, and flexible. Some have criticized this blade for being flimsy, but I find its thinness helpful in adapting to my facial contours as I shave. No nicks, irritation, or razor burn. Of course that is dependent on good technique, but I find this blade much more forgiving than the ruthlessly sharp Feathers. They also last for more shaves than Feathers, which are wildly sharp on the first shave but fall off rapidly afterwards. All in all, these are very high quality blades.
