Paula Deen Signature Cast Iron Hoe Cake Pan / Grill Pan - 11 Inch, Gray

Ok. I have never owned a more versatile piece of cast iron cookware. Yes this is a hoecake pan but it is so much more. Make biscuits, make pancakes, make a grilled cheese. You can do it all. Order this now while you can! Also, I visited the Paula Deen Store in Savannah in June and this item was on my radar but guess what? They do not carry them. I considered myself so lucky to have found it on Amazon and the bonus was I didn't have to lug it home in my luggage and with Prime Shipping the shipping was free too!

I love my hoecake pan, and can't wait until it gets real seasoned. It is already seasoned and ready to use, but it will be even better once it gets a good Old coating on it. It is my go to pan that I keep on the stove. You can cook on it, throw it in the oven to heat something up real quick. I enjoy cooking, and I love gadgets. So I love differnt cooking tools too. Plus you get a recipe for homemade pancakes. Thank you Paula Deen.

All of Paula's products are great. Unfortunately I did not realize that it should not be used on a ceramic flat top stove. I do highly recommend this to any one wanting a cast iron pan

Got at tuesday morning for $7.50. Bought because I loved cast iron and it seeeeeemed unique at the time. The price here is nuts imo for common Chinese made cast iron in a pretty meh form.Very meh, finish not as smooth as lodge (let alone vintage, naturally no one would expect that though), and the seasoning is not as good as new lodge either. I realize that there's no point to this pan imo if you have a decent complement of CI.Some of PD's cast iron was having the handles snapped off and were recalled. This wasn't on the list but the handles look identical... So I'm actually terrified to use mine.

The product itself did not disappoint and is certainly not limited to hoe cakes and the like. It is a great 11-inch general purpose griddle of heavy construction that will hold heat well.However, the literature which accompanied the pan cautioned against using it on a glass cook top. I am quite satisfied with the quality of the pan, but I have had to cross our glass drop-in cook top off the list of places where I can use it.

Directions clearly states, "Your Paula Deen cast iron cookware is pre-seasoned and ready to use." Don't believe it. After unpacking the pan we rinsed the pan off to remove any dust and to ensure it was clean and ready to use. However, the underside immediately rusted within a few hours. So now I need to remove the rust and season the bottom and probably the top side before using.

Perfect biscuits every time!

What a complete waste of money. Heat distribution is bad,size is impractical,weight is too heavy.Clean up was a problem as well.I should have known better.
