Cheaply made; junk.
We finally opened our new package of coffee filters. The first two out of the package lasted one use. Issues: warping, twisting, coming apart so that some charcoal ends up in grounds. The second twisted so that it fell out of the filter holder. Because we had no need of these until this month (they are supposed to last a month each), the return window in this product is closed. DON’T buy!

Coffee Filter
Helps to filter the tap water when making coffee. You first need the filter cartridge that holds the filter. I originally purchased those from a store when I bought the coffee pot. They used to sell 2 filters for approx. $5 and after a while the store no longer had just the filters. Luckily they were available at Amazon for an extremely reasonable price. I replace the filter each month.

THEY DO NOT FIT THE MR COFFEE FILTER HOLDER
We just got these filters last week, and I've gone through 3 of them already. A filter is supposed to last a month. The first one I used, the filter paper separated from the plastic ring and you could see the charcoal inside. Who knows if any of it ended up in my coffee? Charcoal isn't dangerous, I know, but it's hardly appetizing, and NOT what I want IN my coffee. The description clearly says that these are replacement filters for the *Mr Coffee* water filtration system, which is why I chose it. However, they are not an exact fit for the filter holder, maybe just 1/16 inch or so smaller than the brackets on the holder. But it's enough so that when the water starts hitting it, it pops out of the holder and ends up right on top of the coffee grounds. Also, my husband noticed that the plastic ring that holds the filter paper was actually a little bit warped after our last pot, so it could also be that the hot water warps it enough to let it pop out of the filter holder. Maybe that's also why the first filter actually separated from the ring.Manufacturers, take note: If you're going to make a product that supposedly can be used with another product, MAKE SURE IT MEETS THE SPECS OF THE PRODUCT IT'S TO BE USED WITH! Thank goodness for Amazon's return policy. These are going back.

These have become our go-to coffee filter replacement discs
Mr. Coffee charges too much for their filter replacement discs so we looked for an alternative. These have worked out great for us. We don't detect any taste when using them, and they fit our coffee maker just as the original discs did. We have city water with a softener on our system. Because of the softener, we probably have to change our discs more frequently. The filters do keep the residue out of the coffee. When we switched from Mr. Coffee to this filter, we didn't notice any difference in taste, and I am not sure what the other function of these are so can't speak to that topic. I am not even sure how you can tell what the "authentic" Mr. Coffee discs are on Amazon as so many claim to be. We know this one isn't, and it works fine for us.

1/24/2020: These filters are terrible. They fall apart in one use. I'll never buy them again!
Coffee filters are used in my Mr. Coffee. Nothing much can go wrong as long as I order the correct filters. Thanks for asking. **** I wrote this review before I used them. They looked perfect until I used them. They lose their shape, fall apart and fall into the coffee grounds. A proper filter lasts at least 2 weeks. These only last for one use. What a waste of money, and I'm stuck with 2 packs of them.

Just the filter, please
Oh my gosh, I was paying almost 7 bucks for one filter because you only had the option of buying the holder and filter together. I finally wondered if you could just buy the filter, so as I frequently do- I asked Amazon! And, duh, how about a whole bag full, for about the cost of one at the grocery store!I can't yet swear to it, but it seems like these filters last longer. I change them not by the recommended date range, but by sag value- when it gets all saggy, it gets replaced.Super value, delivered right to my door, gotta love it.

Convenient
Trying to buy coffee filters in a store is a pain. I'm not talking about the paper filters but the ones that go in the machine on to of the coffee grounds. The ones you find in stores are thin and hard to install. These filters are thicker and easier to use. Also, so much better to be able to buy a multi-pack at a better price.

Not very heat-resistant
The filter part seems to do exactly what it's supposed to do. The plastic frame is not very well tempered for the hot water. The picture shows a new filter and a filter that was used for about 4 - 5 weeks. The plastic has shrunk and warped, leaving gaps around the edges where water can bypass the filter. Not a HUGE issue, but I would expect these to be able to withstand water heated to brewing temperature.I used this in a Mr. Coffee coffee maker with a thermal carafe that I purchased 2 or 3 years ago. I don't know the model number and I don't think it's still in production.
