I purchased this filter after seeing that the Samsung replacement filters had increased in cost yet again. I just can't see paying $45 for a carbon filter. I work at the water district that supplies our water and know the quality is good. I just don't like the taste of our water. Carbon filters make our water taste better. I read the reviews for this filter and a few others that were advertised as being replacements for my Samsung refrigerator. I was a little leery of the filters that were made in China. One said that they used coconut byproducts in the filter. Not being an expert, I was a little concerned with the China based products since I know they don't go through as extensive of quality testing and that they can use products banned in the US. I chose this filter based on the reviews and the fact that it was made in the US. I received the filter in little time. It came in a white box with just its name on the side. The filter looks pretty much like the Samsung filter. It popped in there really easily without leaks. My water tastes exactly the same as it did with the Samsung filter - just much more cheaply. I strongly recommend this filter to anyone with a Samsung refrigerator.

I had a really hard time finding a filter to fit my Kenmore Pro built-in refrigerator. All DA29-00003G replacement filters are not the same, I have tried several including Samsung and other brands. This product had a very clear close up picture that showed the fitting that goes to your water line(for me this was very helpful). Received in two days, as promised, installed and am very happy. Will be ordering more very soon. I have not had my water quality checked after installing so I cannot vouch for that but it does taste better and has no smell.

I purchased this filter for my Samsung refrigerator. It fit well without any issues. Make sure to follow the instructions and pre-fill it with water before installing it. It will keep the minimize the air in your hose lines and reduce the noise as it cycles through. If you don't pre-fill it its ok too it will just make more noise initially. Once all the air is out of the hose it is noise free. Also, since these filters use carbon as the filtration mechanism make sure you run at least a couple gallons of water through it to wash out some of the loose carbon particles. I rated this as a 4 star product due to the initial taste of the water after installing it. This was after running at least 4 gallons through it before drinking the water. I've used similar non-OEM brand filters but this is the 1st that had a noticeable taste to it. The taste did go away after a few days. Either that or we just got use to it.Cons:Water had a taste to it initially after installing it. Be aware of leaking water.I bought this product due to its cheap price. What a big mistake that I made. About 2 weeks after I installed the unit, all in sudden water leaked out uncontrollably from the edge of the connecting area. It wetted my whole kitchen and caused a lot of work for clean-up the kitchen and the frige. I thought that particular unit was defective, so I replaced with another one (which I bought at the same time). Again, about 2-3 weeks later, it leaked again, and of course wetted my kitchen again. Good thing is that both times I was home, other I will have a flooded house. I will never buy this product again in my life.

EDIT: I wanted to quickly revisit this review because I've been using this for a few more days while I await the Samsung replacement I ordered from Amazon... After more use, there is less particulate floating around, the hiccups are now limited to just one around 2-3 seconds after I start filling my glass, and the drips are down to just 2-3 right after filling. So, not as bad as it was at first and at least approaching a reasonable compromise on quality if you want to avoid the much higher cost of the Samsung.But at the end of the day, the water from this still doesn't taste as "crisp" as it does from the Samsung (though it certainly tastes better than it does straight from the tap!) so for my own needs/preference, the Samsung is worth the extra money. But if you can live with these trade-offs, perhaps this filter will be good for you._________ORIGINAL 2-STAR REVIEW:Would have thought that most filters are mostly the same... But this one is clearly inferior to the Samsung ones that I originally received with my fridge and have used for over 3 years...1) I flushed the filter as instructed (passed more than 15 liters of water through it) however there is particulate floating in the water...whereas my water straight from my kitchen faucet is crystal clear!2) The water now "hiccups" every 10 seconds or so as it runs. (i.e. it will stop filling for half a second even though I keep the lever depressed)3) Bizarrely, the spigot drips significantly (more than 10-15 seconds of drip-drop-drip-drop) whenever I release the lever -- there was never *any* dripping while using the Samsung filters!It's nice that these seem to have a little more "flow" through them so that my glass fills quicker... But it's definitely not nice at the expense of these other three issues that are much more important! I'll need to go back to Samsung.

It does remove any chlorine taste, but there is still some taste, which is unacceptable. The two stars are there for the speedy delivery.

Great price. There are 3 members in this household so the water and ice dispenser is used constantly. We have purchased water filters from several other places, this is by far the best, and the price can't be beat. This filter lasts much longer giving us more for our money.
