Accurate so far!
Mine didn't have instructions, but I watched a customer's video, and it's very simple to use. I found a diamond necklace (an inexpensive one, but still pretty) in a jewelry mystery lot, and, since I'm thinking of selling it, I wanted to make sure the diamonds were real. I tested my own known diamond jewelry, and even got a surprise with a small necklace that was supposed to be either zircon (which is a a real stone) or cz. Some of the tiny stones registered as diamonds. It's from India, so it may be a common thing to mix them (?). Anyway, the known diamonds checked out as genuine. Well worth buying if you are a jewelry re-seller like me. The customer's video also said it will determine crystal, glass and jade. My jade beads checked out as genuine jade.

Works well, but won't find moissanite.
I verified that all our real diamonds are indeed real. And, the one my wife found on the street isn't. lol The important thing to remember is that you could be fooled my moissanite. Moissanite has very similar heat transfer characteristics to diamond and that's what this tester measures. The instructions warn you about this too. Moissanite optically produces double image reflections, so a jeweler's lope should allow you to spot it. There are examples on the web. I haven't, yet, taken a look at moissanite to learn exactly how this double image is presented. I need to stop by a jewelry store and see it first hand.

Very nice product for testing diamonds small and large
This technology has been around for a while now and this product is very reasonably priced now. It accurately tests diamonds and even rubies (although it will not tell you the difference from a radiation or heat treated stone). Diamonds have the greatest thermal conductivity of any stone (natural or synthetic) and rubies just under diamonds. This device accurately and quickly assesses that. We tried various stones, synthetic and real, and found it accurate on everything from pave to larger carat (+) diamonds. Nice to have if you are looking for a good deal at a pawn shop or estate sale. We all know they often tell you it is real (when its not). This and a good jewelers loop and you are less likely to be taken so to say.

Es funcional
Es funcional. No es perfecto, pero si lo sabes usar te muestra un diamante real y un falso

It kind of works...
Using the same settings in the same place at the same time, it correctly identified some diamonds I had and missed a few others of similar size which I got tested at a jeweler. It doesn't do well at all on very large rocks, which was my purpose for buying it.

Read the instructions!!
Make sure you read the instructions or have a professional show you how to use it. Luckily I know several jewelers and have dealt with lots of different kinds of precious metals and gems or I might have dismissed a $10k ring as being worth nothing but its weight in gold. These machines are EXTREMELY sensitive to everything, especially ambient temperature and wind. The instructions are very clear about how to use but if you need a better understanding ask a professional. I took it to my jeweler and he said it works nearly as well as the one he spent 50x what I did. He also said the ring sells in stores for 15k and I could expect around 10 if I'm in a hurry, which I'm not thankfully. Thanks for selling a product that isn't a "you get what you pay for" item.

Item was defective upon arrival
Very disappointing! Didn’t work right out of the box. My disappointment was already exasperated by the unusually lengthy shipping time. I’ve had to wait a week to get this diamond tester only to be disappointed. The tester just didn’t work! I put in a brand new 9v battery and turn it on and no lights came on…no sound…nothing. I tried rereading the instructions but to no avail. Thinking maybe it was the battery, I switched to another new battery after performing a battery viability test, then installed the battery after it was confirmed to be fully charged and this device still didn’t work. It has to be that the manufacturer didn’t perform a qualify assurance test on their product before shipping it out of assembly. I had to call Amazon to complain about this and to initiate a return. I’ve ordered a different brand. Will never buy from this company again. Very disappointed!!!

Work great for me.
I'm not using this for business, I just needed to check some earring and rings we found when we sold our family home. None of them were real unfortunately. I'm glad this was reasonably priced for that reason. I tested my wife's small engagement diamond, small but good quality, with it to make sure it worked and it went right to the top. The instructions that came with this tester were very helpful too.
