She gets discouraged easily with hard vocabulary and will just resort to looking at pictures. A local bookshop recommended Owly to me and it has been amazing. I only had to read a handful of pages to her so that she could learn how to read a graphic novel, what order to look at the panels, etc. The stories are engaging, she loves the characters, the panels are linked intuitively, and she has devoured the entire series over a course of weeks. The vocabulary is perfect for the age group without taking away from the story. There are occasional large words that she would need help with, but probably only 5-6 per book. Her reading has changed from a point of concern to one of her strong suits, solely because of her interest in these books. I can't recommend them highly enough.
