Devardi Glass Lampworking, Blowing, Beadmaking COE 104 Beginner Starter Kit - Basic

Really enjoying this new hobby, and this kit was fantastic. Has everything you need, except glasses and fuel. Works great, highly recommend. :)

This kit is absolutely amazing for a little beginners kit definitely worth the money I suggest you do take time watch the instruction video and learn what you're doing

Provided an unplayable dvd. I reached out for support and they didn’t have any options. I found that they have a YouTube channel and probably a better source than an optical disk in 2023

This kit was amazing! I am having a lot of fun learning how to work glass. Their provided DVD instructional videos were super helpful with that. I appreciate the DVD format instead of digital, but that is my preference. I would have appreciated subtitles on the DVD, since I am HoH, but the audio is mostly clear and understandable.The colors that the glass came in were breathtaking. Seriously! I tried a green rod (not sure of the color name), and it was awesome! Greenish with a red (?) sheen. It made decent beads (user error, again!), but the colors were gorgeous! The glass was super shocky, but I think that was user error (first time making beads!). I will try out the techniques in the DVD. The rods were kind of thick, which made it a little hard for me to work with. Again, possible user error.I had some trouble with the beads not releasing from the mandrel even though I followed all the instructions very carefully, but if you secure the mandrel in a vice and bang on it with two hammers at the same time, they release well. There is a 12 year old video on Youtube that I watched to figure this out, so if my description didn't make sense you can look around for it.The kit came with everything that was in the description with some written instructions and warnings. It even came with some extra things that I wasn't quite sure what to do with, like a metal plate. I used it to kinda alter the color of some of the beads. It was pretty cool! It doesn't come with a fuel source or protective glasses, as mentioned. I just bought one of those disposable green propane canisters. Just open the plastic cap and push then screw the hot head (is that the right name?) in. It's scary at first, but you can do it! I also bough their safety glasses; they work, but they are a bit loose on my head.Overall a super interesting and useful kit! It has a bit of a learning curve, but once you figure out how to handle that glass (that beautiful glass!) you are good to go! If you are debating on getting it or not, I would say get it! I believe it comes with a warranty if you REALLY don't like it, but that chances of that aren't very high (I would say)! Good luck, and make sure to do your research and stay safe!
