A Midsummer Night #nofilter (OMG Shakespeare) Hardcover – January 5, 2016

This is a great way to engage teenagers with Shakespeare. While there are some slight changes to when information is revealed from the original text, the key stuff is all there. It's a great way to show teens that the story of Midsummer is relevant to their lives. It's all rather like middle school romance drama.

Hilarious, and follows the original Shakespeare remarkably well. I like the glossary of text abbreviations in the back, to help me "learn the lingo." I bought this for myself, but I could see using it in a classroom. Reading this before tackling the Shakespearean original would probably help kids understand what's going on.

This book is really cute. My 7th grade homeschool student and I are going to read A Midsummers Nights dream next year so I had him read this over the summer as fun introduction. He enjoyed it and said it was pretty funny.

I just taught Macbeth to my English 4 classes this past semester. One assignment option I gave them was inspired by these books: re-write a major scene using text and emoji. The kids LOVED it. Glad to have these (I bought the whole set!)

I love this series! The emojis do make is harder to read sometimes because they use uncommon ones but overall I really enjoyed reading the story in a whole new way.
