Cat Mate Replacement Pump for Pet Drinking Fountains (354)

It works well, no issues. It does bear mentioning that it does not come with the rubber feet that were on the original pump, but I suppose that makes sense given that they are advising people to soak this in vinegar once a month, which would dissolve the rubber feet. The bottom of the pump does not hit the bottom of the fountain anyway, so it makes no noise. Instead of the circular adjustment on my old pump, this one has a slider. It look like you can still take off the front and back and remove the magnetic spinner for proper cleaning so that's good. My old pump still worked but my cat wasn't drinking from the fountain so I thought some impurities may have found their way inside the old pump and survived the cleaning and soaking in alcohol I did when cleaning it. My cat is drinking a lot with the new pump so maybe something to that theory. Anyways, nice to be able to buy the pump separately.

I’ve used Cat Mate fountains for manny years. I have only had two motors fail in all that time, and I’m guessing it’s because I don’t do the monthly vinegar soak recommended by the manufacturer. These motors are very quick to clean once you figure out how to get the cover off. I use OXO small appliance cleaning brushes which have a plastic end and work great to easily pry the motor cover off. I clean my fountains weekly to make sure there is fresh, clean water available. It helps tremendously with cat health and kidney function.

I found this pump to be a very good replacement for the original. It is put together well and it is easy to clean. I have a mini brush that I use to push-up inside the hole. The price was very good. From time to time, it will stop functioning. This only happens after washing it. I have now learned what not to do when cleaning it. I need to make sure that it is cleaned around the grooves and in the edges where the water filter filters through. It has lasted a lot longer than the original filter unit.

Positive: There was a replacement punp available, at a somewhat reasonable price. Negtive: I don't think the orriginl pumpp sasted very long.

My cat is happy his water dish is working again! Easy to install took about 1 min if that. The pumps don't last that long maybe 1 to 2 months but the price isn't too bad at 9.99.

This is the 3rd pump I’ve needed to buy for our cat’s fountain. They always come with a notification taped around the cord to clean them monthly- disassemble, soak in vinegar/water, brush and reassemble. This is disingenuous. There is no way to disassemble these pumps. It’s strictly use them until they die and then get a new one.

I have a CatMate water fountain and the pump was acting wonky. Purchased this one on amazon, and put it in as soon as it arrived. It worked immediately, and is pumping more water more quietly than the original pump that came with the fountain. It didn't have the adapter, but since the adapter from the old pump still worked, I didn't need it. Quick delivery, and works really well. A great way to add life to the fountain.

I ordered a second pet mate water fountain and after the first use the pump quit. I contacted pet mate and they had me send the pump back. They informed me that they ran it with vinegar water and it was working fine, so they sent it back, only they didn't send all the pieces so it was basically useless, so rather than go through them again I just ordered a whole replacement. It is working fine. I still have my original fountain with its original pump and have never had a moments problem with it. I just thought it would be nice to have 2 so my cat could still have her water fountain while the other one was being cleaned.
