My vet recommended, can't find them cheaper anywhere else.
About five years ago, we adopted a 6 year old chihauhau/pug/pekinese/guinea pig (just kidding) mix that had terrible teeth. After having them cleaned by the vet under anesthesia (sp??), the vet recommended we give him this brand of chewies to help keep those expensively-cleaned choppers shiney.I am not sure exactly what is different about these than other brands, but they sure seem to do the trick. We have had dogs in the past that used cheaper brands of various chewies, and I don't think they actually did much as far as really keeping the teeth clean. Five years later, this dog's teeth are still nice and tidy and he has not had to have them re-cleaned by the vet. (And if I remember right, it was almost 300 bucks to have him do it!)Though the dog mentioned could possibly use the smaller chews, we have 2 other dogs (a border terrier mix and a Walker coonhound/retriever mix), and when I get this size, it seems they can all share one bag and do okay.I recommend these if you have a dog with tartar problems specifically, but really, these seem to do a nice job keeping any dogs teeth free of ick!(Side note-- the chihauhau mix that I spoke of used to have seizures now and then-- maybe 5 or 6 a year-- that the vet could not find a cause for. Since having his teeth cleaned, he has had only 3 seizures in the last 5 years. I can't say for sure that his dental hygiene played a part in this, but it does seem a strange coincidence!)

If my dogs had thumbs, they'd give two thumbs up!!
This product has saved me a lot of money! First off, my dogs love these! It keeps them busy and they get real excited when I get the bag out. Before using these chews my vet was pushing for dental cleaning for both my dogs (very expensive) because their plaque was so bad and their breath was absolutely horrendous. I even tried brushing their teeth. I gave them these chews a few times a week. Now their breath is much better and my vet even remarked on how the plaque appears to have chipped away and their gums look healthy. I will continue to give these to my dogs periodically to maintain healthy teeth. I recommend being present to supervise them in the event of choking. If you have a particularly slobbery dog keep them off of your furniture when they chew these because my Puggle (Thomas) made a big white filmy spot on my bed cover. Not the products' fault, Thomas is just gross. Lovable but gross. Oh! and he hides them a lot, I can't wait to find his stash. Penny devours them.

Doggo approved. My dogs love these chews. I watch them to make sure once they are down to a small piece that I take them away. Technically they are completely edible, but my dog swallowed the remainder of one she had chewed on for hours and she didn’t poop for a couple of days after which is somewhat disturbing. But I don’t think it was dangerous for her and it was really my own fault for not watching her well enough with it. She was trying to keep one of the other dogs from taking it and she just gobbled it right up. However, I still give these to my dogs because they help keep their teeth clean and if you properly observe them while they are chewing, it should not be an issue. And that is pretty much a general rule for all chewies. They are a bit pricy, and I have smaller dogs, for big does they are even more expensive. They last a while for my small guys who aren’t rough chewers. They would probably not last too long with a tough chewer.

Rottweiler and Chihuahua goes nuts for these chews!!! Teeth look better!
I have a 10-year old Rottweiler and 7-year old Chihuahua. Our vet recommended this product because of the enzyme and it's supposed to help their teeth. I have to cut the Chews to give my Chihuahua a smaller piece...and it's pretty tough to cut so I suggest using kitchen grade sheers. My Rottie can go through one so quickly while my little dog is still working on his. We usually give them this treat after dinner and it's their favorite. My dogs LOVE this stuff! All I have to do is say "Do you want your chewy?" and they go nuts! They know exactly what I'm talking about and they run straight to the pantry where I keep it. I can't explain it because it looks so plain and tough to chew...but their reaction is like I was serving them a plate of the finest steak at a five star restaurant. The only drawback is that after a couple of hours of ingesting, my Rottie produces the worst gas ever. It could be age though, so I can't confidently say the Chews cause it....but know she loves the stuff and I will continue to buy the product. We found it to be cheaper on Amazon over our local pet store and vet's office. A guy at PetSmart was buying the chews for his dog and commented to me that he doesn't know why his dog goes nuts and loves it so much. I told him my dogs did the same!

Totally transformed our pup's teeth from awful to awesome!
These have rescued my dog's horrible teeth! My husband and I took in a stray dog, and when she came to us she had HORRIBLE teeth. They were covered in yellow plaque. I tried brushing them every day, but it wasn't helping. The vet told me they would have to put her under anesthesia to remove the plaque, and it would cost $600!Well, before we committed to dental surgery, I decided to try these chews. At first, she wouldn't eat them - she was used to little kibble treats, and didn't know what to do with a rawhide-type of treat. But eventually I got her to love them, and started giving her one a day, after she ate her dinner.Progress was slow, but months later, her teeth had noticeably improved! The yellow plaque had completely come off her front teeth, and there were now white patches on her back teeth where the plaque was wearing away. Now it's been about a year, and I've reduced the chews to a few times a week. Her teeth look fantastic! There's still a little plaque on the back teeth, but it's nearly all gone. In fact, just tonight, my brother asked me if we'd started brushing her teeth. Nope! Just giving her these chews on a regular basis has completely transformed her horrible little teeth from yellow and plaque-covered to sparkling white. It may take a bit of time (give them a few months to show progress), but it worked for us! Our dog's teeth have never looked better.
