A crossover is an electronics device that takes signals consisting of different ranges of frequencies (highs, mids, and lows), so tweeters, woofers, and subwoofers will each get only the range of frequencies they were designed to play. Nowadays you find crossovers in every speaker system. For instance, if your car audio system uses a pair of coaxial speakers, it uses a tiny crossover network built into it somewhere. The Audiotek CX4 is one of the best passive car audio crossovers. This is a 2-Way Crossover and it has good capacity for high and low frequency response. The peak power of this crossover is 600 watts and and frequency crossover is 3.5kHz. You will get 2 of those.

Review: Value-priced, quality x-over network - I bought this to upgrade the front speaker crossovers in my 4Runner. I have a pair of Kenwood PS-709s 6.5 + 1" separates powered with a 100w/ch amp. These speakers only come with a 12dB/oct high-pass filter for the tweeters and nothing for the 6.5" woofers. The phase relationship is weird and the midrange is pronounced. The AudioTek CX2 crossover does a good job of blending the woofer and tweeter of this set of speakers. It corrects the phase shift by having a low pass for the woofer and a high pass for the tweeter. the 3.5KHz crossover point is good for this set of speakers. The midrange is less pronounced and imaging is better. Very good results for $32/pair for the x-overs. Seems very well built. I'll update this review after I have spent more time with the product.

Replaced the crossovers that came with my existing component speakers with these. I immediately noticed improved bass and treble, I think the extra power capacity is the reason.

I bought this to upgrade the front speaker crossovers in my 4Runner. I have a pair of Kenwood PS-709s 6.5 + 1" separates powered with a 100w/ch amp. These speakers only come with a 12dB/oct high-pass filter for the tweeters and nothing for the 6.5" woofers. The phase relationship is weird and the midrange is pronounced. The AudioTek CX2 crossover does a good job of blending the woofer and tweeter of this set of speakers. It corrects the phase shift by having a low pass for the woofer and a high pass for the tweeter. the 3.5KHz crossover point is good for this set of speakers. The midrange is less pronounced and imaging is better. Very good results for $32/pair for the x-overs. Seems very well built. I'll update this review after I have spent more time with the product.
