I have had 2 of these mats for a long time. I use them under the pet food and water bowls. I had purchased them at a pet shop in town, originally. One of my cats plays with the water in the water bowls, and plays with her dry food kibble too, knocking pieces out of the bowl so she can select the ones she wants to eat more easily (what a silly cat). Since I have wood floors, I didn't want the water ruining the floors.These flexible mats are easy to clean and dry. They have a lip on them to keep water from running onto other surfaces. I put one in the kitchen and one in the master bathroom, where I feed my cats. I like that these mats are large enough to hold the water bowl and 3 small food bowls. Any spilled water is fully contained, but not all the dry kibble pieces that come out of the bowls are, but that's only because my cats like to bat dry kibble pieces around (they really prefer the wet food though).I found a new use for these mats recently, so I bought several more. I put them under my room humidifiers to catch water drips and spills!Update:Now that all my cats have passed away, I gave one mat to my daughter for her dog, who's a very messy eater and drinker. Her kitchen floor is tile, so when the tile is wet it's dangerously slippery. This mat has stopped that problem. The rest of the mats I kept and are still under the humidifiers.

I ordered this mat for the cats' food and water bowls. They kept running into the water bowl and spilling water all over the floor. And since the floor is Laminate--you guessed it--it was damaging the flooring when I didn't notice it right away. I needed something that hopefully wouldn't slide around (since if it did, water would probably still end up on the floor). This mat grips the floor well enough that they haven't moved the mat. And if they still manage to bump the water bowl, the raised lip will hopefully keep the water from hitting the floor. Although I wish that the mat was a bit larger and the lip a little higher in order to catch a bigger amount of spilled water, it seems a good mat for the money.However, the way it was packaged by Van Ness disappointed me. It was folded in half so it could fit into a smaller envelope. And although I understand the reasoning behind keeping shipping costs down, it was not a good decision with this product. The bend where it was folded has still not come out of the raised lip. I'm not sure it ever will, which takes away from its effectiveness in case of a spilled bowl of water.

Serves it's purpose perfectly. I got it to go under the new raised feeding bowls I bought for my fur baby and it fits nicely right underneath to catch any spills, dribbles, or drools. Just what I wanted and am satisfied with the thickness, durability and ease in cleaning. I bought the bright blue one to match the saphire blue feeding bowls and it compliments quite nicely. My dog however is still trying to get used to the new feeder but she is doing quite well for a new routine especially involving her food. She LOVES to eat! I will order again and highly recommend if anyone is considering this silicon mat. Very happy with my purchase!

The microfiber pet mat I had from my little Shi Tzu was staying sopping wet with our new bulldog buddy. It was going to ruin the wood floor.This does just what it's supposed to do! Keeps the wet on the mat and I purposely found one that had a lip around the edge to keep the large amount of water that runs down the bowl when he drinks (it looks like a faucet is running water right over the edge of the bowl).It's large enough for our large water bowl and food dish with room left over. Easy to pick up and dump the water off, easy to wipe clean, does not slip around and it was a GREAT price! Couldn't ask for a better deal. Very happy!

I do like this product and it works great for what i need it to do. The down side is that it is flimsy and thin.. so when my cats spill water into it. Then i go to clean it.. i end up spilling water because its so flimsy. I have learned to work around it. I would not have bought this product if I had know it was flimsy like that.

I bought this because I had gotten an identical mat about 15 years ago. That one is still going strong but we got a new puppy and needed a second mat. I like that it is flexible so it conforms to any imperfections in the floor, doesn't warp, and stays down. It also has a very nice edge on it in case of spills. It is easily cleanable. Excellent choice in my opinion.

Tends to bend crease and stay in that position. I ordered blue but got white.

We bought two of these from our local big box pet store. The mat grips the floor and bowl bottoms to prevent slip related spills. We put one in the dishwasher and it came out warped. The edge has a lip that retains spills very effectively.We ordered this one from Amazon for a replacement, but the blue color is too vivid and is too much of a mismatch with our floor so we gave it away. If the color wasn't so clashy this mat would suit us fine. Now we're looking for an inexpensive functional mat in a neutral color.

Our GSD seems to delight in sharing his refreshing drink with our kitchen floor so much so in the Summer our floor attracts mosquitoes to it as they think it is somewhere they can lay eggs! This made the difference and while it doesn't catch all the water when he is having a really determined drink in 90% of his visits we manage to stay dry! Pick up,tip out,dry and replace nothing more complicated to keep our floor dry and slip free.

Pleased with diner mat which came in beige not blue but prefer this as matches flooring. Will prove useful I'm sure and help with dribbles from German Shepherd who spills more water than he actually drinks. Looked at lots before plumping for this one, but convenient size and shape means it fits in the corner nicely so best of the bunch at a good price. Easy to clean and lips keeps in the water. Good service from supplier too.

Really pleased with this mat. It's perfect for my dogs bowls as they are messy drinkers. Water everywhere! A cream one arrived and I was pleased about that as it suits me better. Arrived very quickly. I would highly recommend this mat. Does the job well.

This really is a solution to messy dog eating time. good mould, holds shape, very flexible making it easy to get in the sink to wash. easy clean. catches food that the dog flicks out of his bowl.good buy best solution i've found in 20 years.

This is good quality material, the lip around the outside works well, it can be picked up and moved without spillage and is readily washable. Overall a very good product if just a little pricey. I would recommend it.
