Potty Training Magic: The Fun Way to go Nappy-Free Fast

Can't recommend
I've read four books about potty training. This is probably the worst one. It may be OK for people who don't rush on potty training (basically recommends to wait until your child begs you to go on the potty). Definitely not useful for anyone who wants to potty train relatively early (20 months e.g.). For me, there was too much about complicated rewarding system and I really don't think that you need to match style of potty with a trainer seat... There were not enough practical details for the training itself. However, you can find here some extra useful stuff about hygiene, constipation etc. which is definitely good to know.

A very useful book for potty training
I had it easy with my older daughter, who required zero day of potty training, so I was feeling quite stressed out when the little one, who, unlike her sister, did not seem to just instantly get the idea. I then desperately tried to find a book that might help, and decided to buy this one based on the good reviews, hoping it would really work some magic, and it did. The book is well written and easy to read. I did not follow everything to the letter (I do not have a carry potty when going out); what I got out of the book was the reward system, which my daughter responded to really well. The first days were quite painful and frustrating with me constantly trying to figure out when she was about to go and failing most of the time. However we pressed on and on day seven miraculously she herself requested to go to the toilet throughout the day without being prompted and had even graduated onto the big toilet on the same day. Since then she has been accident free (it’s been two weeks now since we started), so I consider it mission accomplished and thank god it will not be a whole summer of potty training as I had dreaded. I would highly recommend giving this book a try.

Confidence for parents and children alike in taking that first step
We are now 6 days into our potty training journey and over the first 1.5 days we only had 3 accidents, nothing since. My son will be 3 at the end of June and we made sure to wait until we felt he was ready and ignored all the pressure from outside. He's taking himself off to the potty for wee's and poo's and is so proud to pour his deposits down the toilet, say bye bye and then wash his hands. Rewards are working a treat, as is lots of praise. I felt like I didn't have a clue where to start before reading this book but it gave me the confidence I needed for us to take the first step. Just brilliant!

Defo worth a read for your little ones sake
Sometimes, as adults, we need someone to point out that all we need to carry out tasks is common sense. This book is telling you to use your common sense & don’t give up. I don’t see why people have a problem rewarding their children when they achieve milestones such as potty training so those who slate the author for having a reward system are probably the kind of parents who tell their kids the ice cream only plays the music becAuse it’s run out of ice cream. It’s an inexpensive way of remembering to keep your calm & soldier on. We’re on day 3 of full potty training, we’ve had 2 accidents & i have the full support of nursery because I have been clear with them in how I’d like my son potty trained. I’m calmer than I was in trying a few weeks ago &im confident that my little boy is gaining confidence in himself with every wee on the potty. I’d recommend it if you are a little worried about potty training. I bought a ton on undies, some cheap joggers, made a chart. Its helped me keep control of every hurdle.

Super book!!!
This book is a brilliant read with excellent points throughout. It’s nice to read something that’s informative whilst being genuine from someone who has actually had the experiences she mentions. As a teacher, all too often I witness the affects of young children not being potty trained properly before reception so hopefully parents will now have some better guidance to aid them, if like many other parents they are unsure of the correct methods. I’ve just started training my little boy and already feel more confident in my approaches after one read. I have also purchased the penguin carry potty which my boy absolutely adores and hopped on straight away. A winning combination. Well done Amanda Jenner.
