It’s only a cable that connects in line to the back of the trailer hitch plug and original hitch cable. I didn’t encounter any problems with my backup camera. Because the trailer hitch plug is standard configuration you shouldn’t have any problems. I did a review of the Nilight Tailgate Light Bar and mentioned when switched to 4 wheel drive on my truck(2021 Toyota Tundra) the light bar malfunctioned but my back up camera was fine. With that being said you’ll just have to try and see. Sorry for being long winded with my comment just trying to be thorough. **Q: Does this need the factory to flash the computer in order to work on a 2015 Grand Cherokee?** A: My 2015 Jeep GC did not come with tow package but was pre-wired.
