I still haven't played with more expensive paddles and I may not want to yet as it may force me to spend more money. A few comments:1. People comment on the sound when hitting the ball. It's more of a hollow or thud noise, unlike the more tinny noise of some paddles2. The neoprene edge is thick compared to the edge on some other paddles I've seen on the courts3. The shape does taper in a bit from the top. I didn't notice this when I was looking at the pictures before buying. But, looking back at the pictures now, I can see it.4. This is not the lightest paddle. Seem just a little bit lighter than the wooden ones I was using.5. The grip is more like an oval shaped (like a smooshed pipe) than it is a circle. I don't know if this is how other paddles are, but it is certainly different that the wooden ones.6. Speaking of the handle, it is small/short for my big hands. I now play with my index finger extended onto the face of the paddleAlso a couple of things that are totally just nitpicking, but may say something about the workmanship...1. The bottom of the grip is on crooked. Not a big deal at all and doesn't affect play, but when you stand it up on a table or something, the paddle is leaned to the side a bit.2. The tape around the top of the handle (where your index figure and thumb are) just seems a bit haphazardly taped. But I can claim to be a pickleball fanatic. When I go to my athletic club to play, several of the folks that I play with ask to use one of my paddles(I have 4) rather than the ones they can borrow from the club. They like them better. The paddle is relatively light (between 8 and 9 ounces) and the composite material is very responsive when striking the ball. The only downside might be that protective rubber bead around the outer edge which protects the paddle sometimes results in errant shots. For the price, this is a very good paddle for a beginning pickleball player who isn't familiar enough with the game to justify a much more expensive paddle that might just end up laying on the closet shelf. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Pretty heavy but durable *by S***T on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on October 10, 2016* Pretty heavy but durable. I have used the cheaper wooden ones and have been frustrated how they splinter immediately when you accidently scuff the ground. This has a heavy rubber liner that keeps the paddle safe.
