For this reason I add some wood and screws and now can hold the canvas Very Well, no matter the pressure you apply on it( can use 11×14 in to 18×24in canvas and bigger). I adapt this eassel for 1/8 canvas board hold it very well (size 6×8 on to 12×18in and more). I add an detachable table to hold paper towels and tools. From an old tripod I made a table to hold and mix the oil paint. Very handy: can be raised to your high to stay straight (I do have Bob Ross pallet, but if I keeps few hours in my hand, my hand starts tired). I also made an rack to store canvas after I apply gesso (I ordered from desertcart 18×24 in pack of 4 double prime canvas, and I used like this , and when starts drying, in few days, the canvas sack oil paint and ruins my picture. For example one 60 inches tall single canvas?** A: The horizontal canvas ledges are all removable, so you could use this with one canvas rather than two. Keep in mind that the two vertical bars in back are only 17 inches apart, so stability of a 60" canvas might be less good than with a wider support behind the canvas. However, you can tighten the top and bottom ledges canvas-holders, so that would help. However, even a klutz like me figured out how to loosen the right combination of knobs so that the easel lays flat. It takes a little bit of focus to visualize which legs/arms have to be rotated to a single in-line configuration, and thus which knobs have to be loosened. Also, look for videos for storing easels. **Q: How does one keep the easel from rolling when folded for storage if the wheels don’t lock?** A: The wheels are only on one side of the easel, the other side where the weight is leaning on are flat rubber stoppers.
