I read this book to my daughter… I think it impacted me more than I thought it would. She loved it, of course, but it was I who was lost in the poetry of Pennypacker’s writing style. She weaved a beautiful story, rich with emotion. Her characters are well developed and have meaningful depth. I’ve never given much thought to foxes but this book made me curious. I feel like I know Pax and I love him! The human characters were also exceptionally written. I’d say 8 would be the youngest I would read this book to (listed as 10 up). WOW- what a story! You won’t be disappointed!

Easy read with a great story line. Heartfelt.I would have my 12 yr old read this book. I read it so we could talk about it after.
