If you pre sand the surface, scuff it, yes, it should.

Yes, you must do the acid etch. If cracks can be filled, after etch, fill with quickcrete and allow to dry 24hours. Then apply Epoxy

Q: Hello, will this work on a reptile cage made out of Melamine board?

Greetings, thank you for your question. Because some Melamine board has a smooth surface you might want to roughen up the surface a little to help the product to adhere. According to the manufacturer, sanding and cleaning a surface so that the finish feels like 60-grit sandpaper is enough to get Pond Shield to adhere. Mine also turned yellow too. I don't have a solution. Maybe change brands next time. May try a bleach solution. I like white.
