*Second UpdateI really did a 180 concerning my view of this product. The traffic has stopped and the carpenter ants are gone! I'm changing my rating to 5 stars. At this point, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this ant bait to anyone. It's as good as it gets...* First UpdateIt appears as though I was mistaken. And, I've got to give credit where credit is due. The carpenter ants must have been eating this bait when I wasn't watching. Ant traffic is down to almost zero! This appears to be effective against carpenter ants as advertised.*Original ReviewI purchased this as a defense against carpenter ants. The container and description clearly state that the product is effective for carpenter ants. It isn't! In fact, I placed some in the garage where carpenter ants are entering. The ants walked around it and completely ignored the bait! I must admit, although frustrating, I had to laugh as the ants marched right past the granules. A few even walked right over them completely uninterested. Buyer beware!

This product was a lifesaver in eradicating several large ant mounds behind my house that were feeding into the kitchen. It did work in about 24 hours which was great. However while quick acting, it was not a good long term solution to my ant problem. Please check the product label for ingredients - only 5% orthoboric acid (a highly recommended product and one I recommend), and 95% "other" indicating sugars from my determination.... So, keep spreading this around thinking it is helping the situation and in actuality you may have all kinds of new ants coming to visit from my experience. Terro does make an ant dust that I have not tried yet, however pure boric acid (a.k.a orthoboric acid) powder is so far the winner in combating my ant infestation. Does it work immediately? - No. But, the ants will walk through it and eventually ingest it by grooming themselves. Just a bit of patience is needed. Some builders actually put boric acid powder in the stud bays of homes to prevent termite, ant, and roach issues down the road. Food for thought.

I sprinkled the Terro Ant Bait Plus around the perimeter of our house and used the Terro Ant Baits inside. We have been battling Gost Ants for 2 years and was about to call an exterminator but decided to give Terro a try. We had them in the kitchen and we cleaned out the pantry and sprayed it with an Ant Spray. The little buggers moved to our bathroom. I sprayed there and they moved to the other side of the kitchen. I placed the ant baits in the pantry, floor and in closets. The ants were very active the first few days which is good since they are taking the bait back to their nests. It has been a couple weeks and no more ants. I even left a donut box out on the counter for a couple days to see if they were indeed gone. The donut box used to be their favorite feeding place. I would give this produce more than 5 stars if it were possible.

My experience with a variety of pesticides is that I am a certified applicator with 4 endorsements.This product was supposed to work as a hive killer. Bait the ant route, ant then collects the bait and returns to hive. I had this material in piles immediately along the ant route, the ants walked by it for 10 days evidently not picking any of it up. I am now using a liquid bait from terro and the ants have been collecting it actively day and night for 3 days. Same active ingredient in both products but the liquid is clearly more attractive to my carpenter ants.

I am not sure what this is supposed to do, but I sprinkled it generously on and around the nest of pavement anta manifesting in the seam of my driveway. I did this three times a week, for four weeks, until I ultimately ran out of product, which took five weeks.The ants are as vibrant as ever before, and I got an email from the queen ant asking me to buy more for them.This product is absolutely useless.
