Tangle Art and Drawing Games for Kids: A Silly Book for Creative and Visual Thinking

I bought this book for my grandson and Amazon offered me a kindle version for a —lower than the kindle was priced at —price. So I got the Kindle for myself (after reading a couple reviews) and started to play. This book is great to loosen anyone up and get drawing. There are soooo many books on copying the zentangle patterns to learn how to doodle and draw. While I love those books —you are still being taught to copy someone's designs. This book gets kids drawing through the exercises. They learn to create their own versions and take the designs their way. Even if you are not a kid you can use this book to get your imaginations going -have some fun and draw away.

I purchased this book because I love Jeanette Nyberg and have been following her for years on pinterest, Facebook, etc. Her art projects and quips on life are always interesting. She brings all of her Internet cleverness to Tangle Art & Drawing Games for Kids. I am an assistant director at an afterschool program and brought the book to work with me. As soon as they saw the book, a group of six 3rd graders sat and did projects from it for a couple of hours. They still ask to use it months later...this is a big deal! The content is perfect for various developmentall levels, best suited for 2nd through 5th grade...but, older children and adults will enjoy as well.

My 5 and 6 year olds Love this! I thought my youngest would be too young, but he totally took to a number of the fun and creative ideas. We've only tried a few, but flipping through, it looks like there's not a dud in the bunch. We're all excited to explore more.

Not our cup of tea and not what we thought it was. It’s for much younger kids than I thought, totally my mistake - gave it four stars so it doesn’t degrade the rating because there’s nothing wrong with the book. I returned our two copies (x 2 kids) but am not sure we ever got a refund.

I love this book. I have no imagination or drawing talent. There is nothing more intimidating to me than a blank sheet of paper! This book and the activities are greatly enjoyed by my grandson and I. Most of the time he wants to be playing some sort of ball game. But when I can get him to chill for awhile, we love to sit together and do a few of the drawing games. I love how they are open-ended with no exact goals to create. In fact, we often laugh at the crazy things we've put down on paper. He is super competitive, so having an activity were there are no "winners" is a good balance for him. I would highly recommend this book. I have been telling my other "grandma friends" about it.

I am so thrilled with how much this book is inspiring my seven-year-old son to draw! He enjoys the drawing games/prompts, and after he finishes working on them, he either asks to do another game or continues drawing on his own for long periods of time. In just a week and a half of doing an activity out of the book every day or so, I've already noticed an increased sense of confidence in the lines of his drawings. Plus, I'm enjoying playing the drawing games along with him, and we've ended up collaborating on a few of them, too, which is very fun. So pleased with this book!

I got my son this as a gift. We love this book! Neat to see what we can create with simple shapes or doodles.We've played some of the drawing games inside for hours and had lots of fun with it.Everyone can be an artist with this book. I definitely recommend it and would buy it again as a gift.

I brought this for my daughter, but I have to say that I have also enjoyed using it. Firstly, this is not a colouring book – or a traditional art book for children that they draw in. Rather, it is full of ideas, for which you will need materials such as paper, marker pens, watercolours and brushes, a ruler, black drawing pens, pencils, india ink, painter’s tape, ink pads, crayons and permanent markers (of course, you can substitute whatever you have available in most cases).The book is split into four different areas: simple drawing games, games with friends, mixed-media games and awesome tangle games. There are fun patterns, fingerprint self portraits, hand monsters, cube connections and much, much more. This will improve your creativity, your problem solving skills and, more importantly, it is a lot of fun. With some plain paper and drawing materials, you can design, print and colour. An excellent resource and great fun for children and adults alike.

I bought this to take on holiday and encourage my boys aged 8 and 13 to do something other than play on the gadgets. The exercises are simple but great fun and I enjoyed doing them as well. My kids always get upset when the things they draw are not perfect. But this book, help kids just have fun drawing rather than produce amazing pieces of art. Recommend.

Disappointing. A couple of good games but the illustrations are very basic so not great to use in the classroom as the responses are very quick drawings so I envisage children not becoming as engaged with the visuals as they could have been.

Excellent ideas for kids & also for adults. I bought one for my nephew, and then sent for another on for myself. I'm no use at drawing but think I will have lots of fun with this book! So buy today.
