The jaws of this snippers are 1 inch wide at the tip and 3/8 inch wide about halfway in. If you can't get enough of the cutting blades around the tin, you won't have enough leverage to cut. I'd say, if the embossed tin is no higher than 3/8 inches, you should be fine. If it's higher than that, I'm not sure. **Q: What are these rated for? Like what guage metal can they cut? I need legit bulldogs** A: I usually cut 18 -20 gauge. Various patterns on slow turns and angle cuts. I have other tools for long straight cuts.
