I bought my first bone folder (probably a Lineco) ~ 40 years ago, and used it for near 20 years -- until my wife "borrowed" it (permanently). I've purchased several since then, both bone and synthetic, until mostly settling on the Lineco 8" bone folder (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DIFXAU). This one is better. Much better. Despite its odd shape and size, it's the BEST folder I've ever used. As a bonus, it's also sized to fit nicely in a pocket. It's made from a thick, flat piece of good quality bone, all 4 edges are *very* close to straight, and all corners are nicely radiused. The entire surface is polished to the best finish I've seen on a natural bone folder. 3 of the edges are nicely rounded with a relatively large radius, and work very well for most creasing tasks. The 4th (diagonal) edge is beveled to a much thinner (though still nicely rounded) edge. It is good for folding (of thin paper), but thin enough to do double duty as a very good scoring knife as well. The ONLY disadvantage I see to this design is that it's generally too short for making two creases at the same time (as when folding a letter in thirds). But I typically do this as 2 separate operations anyway. Admittedly, I spent about 20 minutes with some wet-or-dry sandpaper thinning and re-rounding one slightly thicker region of the diagonal edge to make it that edge more uniform. But it was entirely usable before doing so. I'll keep the Lineco for the very rare case where I might need something longer, but I've not actually used it even once since this one arrived. So my search for the perfect bone folder finally seems over.

Pretty good bone folder. About 3” x 1.5” in size. Shape is great for spreading as well as folding. Wish is was slightly bigger but overall is good for price. I recommend.

I love this bone folder. Due to it’s shape I can hold it with the pointed part between my index & middle finger to give it more pressure & have more stability. This helps because I have arthritis. Nice bonus, besides folding & burnishing paper, I use this to spread glue or paint and it works much nicer that the gift card method & it’s so smooth it cleans up easily. The only negative, for some people, is the tip for scoring is rather wide but that’s not a problem for me because I have lots of narrower tools. Their size can vary a bit, I placed an order for a return, because my first had a surface defect, and the replacement was larger but worked equally well. 👍🏽

For some reason I thought it was going to be a little bit bigger than it is, but I’m glad it’s not. Very easy to hold and works well. Solid product which will not break with use, which is what happened to the thinner longer shaped one that I had. Very happy with this purchase

Came across these while looking for a new bone folder to replace my plastic one that had snapped in half. I figured it was time to look for a genuine bone folder, and I’m so glad I took the chance on these! They are absolutely beautiful! They’re the perfect size, have a nice weight to them, and work exactly how I expected them to. You can tell that they’re made from actual bone and not synthetic. The square folder is unique in size and unlike other bone folders I’ve had in the past; its size makes it super comfortably to use when folding dozens of letters. I find myself reaching for it the most! After reading several other reviews, I was a little worried I would receive a moldy one, but both of my orders came in perfect condition. I ordered the traditional creaser/folder as well as the square folder, so I’ve added some pictures for size reference. While I expect these to last a long time, I would absolutely order again if needed, especially for the price. 10/10 would recommend!

This is the folder I've been looking for! In the past I've used synthetic ones and they wear down quickly. This folder is polished smooth, and the texture of the bone is fantastic. Way smoother creases without marking scrap-booking papers. I also love the shape, which lends itself to various applications easily. I couldn't be happier with this folder, and though I expect it to last, if I ever need another I will gladly purchase this again in the future!
